I found this on the internet and its from the opening of the Abraham Lincoln Museum in Springfield, he spoke before Bush. He does look comfortable behind that seal doesn't he?

As a matter of fact, all the Dem candidates are, aren't they?

8. I know this isn't a reason to vote for the guy, but
he has a very nice smile, doesn't he? :loveya: And he does look very Presidential in that first picture. (Again, that in and of itself is NOT a reason to vote for him - I have nothing against Obama at all, and I may very well end up voting for him, but if I do, it's not going to be because of his - admittedly good - looks. I know too many people who used those "qualifications" to vote for Bush, and look where that got us. :scared: )

9. The more I look at him...
I admit I am finding him more attractive every time I look at him... I feel a little bad about that - mostly bc it annoys me when people talk that way about female candidates.

But yeah, he's got a heluva smile.

10. I know what you mean
It irritates the hell out of me when people use "hotness" as a "reason" to vote for somebody, or talk like it's some sort of qualification they have. Back in '04, I was all about Kerry/Edwards, but it still annoyed me when I saw a girl on campus wearing a "John Edwards is hot!" t-shirt. Don't get me wrong, I think Edwards is a pretty decent-looking man too, but that's not really how I'm used to thinking about politicians. It kind of brings back bad memories of Girls' State (*shudder*)...those were not fun times. :scared:

16. Presidential seal?
I thought they were always careful to only have it on the podium when the president is speaking. Maybe it's an omen?

this picture is almost definitely photoshopped. I'm pretty sure no one other than the president is allowed to stand at the podium bearing the presidential seal. for example at the democratic caucus retreat in Williamsburg this weekend, when he was introduced, Pelosi spoke behind a podium at the side of the stage, and then when Bush came out, he went to the presidential podium in the middle of the stage.

you cant convey that someone other than the president is in charge.

20. Either Obama walked up the wrong podium or...
some WH media schlep fell asleep on the job and got canned for it. In my younger days I videotaped several addresses by Reagan, Big Bush, and Clinton and saw how careful they always were with the coveted seal.

17. I agree about the 'hotness' irrelevance...
but it is nice to see a candidate that appears both genuine, intellegent and effortless.

appropriate self confidence will go a long way in politics.

lets try to walk the line between an egotistical moron for president, and a (seemingly) forced and plastic political persona of a failed candidate...

no time for tank rides and botched jokes. this run counts for everything.

23. Excellent pics, but I consider myself an Obama supporter,
rather than a fan. I've also noticed the media using the term "fans" lately to describe Obama supporters. It definitely rubs me the wrong way, as I see it as an attempt to trivialize his candidacy, much like the "rock star" label they've tagged him with.

I know your intentions are good, though. Thanks for posting that excellent pic! :)
