Bush pleads for Iraq plan: ‘Give it a chance’ - MSNBC
This is the picture leading to the story on MSNBC for last nights lie fest.

“Our country is pursuing a new strategy in Iraq — and I ask you to give it a chance to work,” he said. “And I ask you to support our troops in the field — and those on their way.”

4. So he's pleading, eh?
Please, please give my escalation plan a chance?

I remember when, as Texas governor, he mocked convicted murderer Karla Faye Tucker before her execution. He said something like "Oh please don't kill me, please, please please don't kill me." That was just plain dirt low of him. I'm not going to argue about her guilt or innocence -- she should have gotten life in prison without parol.

I think his Iraq escalation deserves as much respect as he gave that woman facing death.

8. C'mon, guys! Oh, and Nancy, too
Give this a chance. You never gave it a chance. If you had given it a chance, it might have worked, and then everything would be all right. How did you know that the solution to this clusterfuck wasn't more clustering and harder fucking? You don't for sure know, do you? Because you didn't give it a chance!

Here's something, Mr. Bush: I think that if you jam this fork into that electrical outlet, you'll poop out a pill that cures cancer. Sure, you think it will shoot you across the room, leaving you in a smoking heap, but I feel real confident about the cancer-curing pill thing. Get jabbing! You have to give it a chance! Or else you love cancer. You don't love cancer, do you, Mr. Bush? Then take that fork and head over to the outlet and prove that you don't want everyone to get cancer.

10. ENOUGH CHANCES ALREADY!
Hasn't Bush had enough of a "chance" to address problems in Iraq? Where was he on this issue from 2004-2006 when things in Iraq appeared (at least to members of the "reality-based community") to be getting really bad? His lack of care or concern about how badly things were going in Iraq since our invasion has been negligent at best and criminal at worst. I don't remember him hunkering down with all of his advisers, study groups, etc. to try to figure out how to turn things around in Iraq back then when the GOP was still in total control of our government and the rest of the country was still (marginally) supportive of our involvement in Iraq or at least willing to allow the administration a little more time to try to improve things there. Until right before the 2006 midterm elections, Bush and his loyalists pretty much refused to acknowledge any serious problems in his original policies on Iraq much less attempt to address them. HOW MANY chances are we, as a country, going to give him to get Iraq "right" (when invading Iraq in the first place and all of the mistakes that followed GUARANTEED that he would never be able to get it "right") at the expense of millions and billions more taxpayer dollars and sacrifice of several thousand more troops? Bush seems to be looking and acting like a desperate gambler who's spent all of his money and hoping that with the next roll of the dice, he'll win it all back and more even though all available evidence suggests otherwise. If he wants to gamble on his own dime and on his own time, then that's fine with me but he (nor any President) should NEVER gamble with other people's lives like he has done time and time again!:argh:
