Pelosi Chooses "Uncompromising Environmentalist" to Head Select Cmte
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is planning the establishment of a ''select'' committee on the environment and energy that would undermine the authority of Rep. John Dingell, the Michigan Democrat who was first elected in 1954 and is the senior member of Congress......

The prospective chairman of the new committee would be Rep. Ed Markey of Massachusetts, one of the most flamboyant liberals and uncompromising environmentalists in Congress.

It's Novakula's blurb and he's shocked (shocked!) that she wouldn't expect auto industry-heavy Michigan's Dingell, and coal industry-heavy WV's Rahall to champion new initiatives in this area.

And doncha love his term, "flamboyant liberal"? I guess those are the ones of us decked out in pink satin and platform shoes. I'm sure The DBoL will also help us identify which conservatives are "flamboyant".

1. I like that Pelosi is giving
liberals all of these high positions...but I worry that she is stepping on the backs of too many "moderates" and that they will try to get rid of her...

2. Rep. Pelosi seems to be shaking up the "business as usual" crowd.
Hopefully we will continue to see more of the type of "progressive" legislation that we saw in the first 100 hours of this Congress.

3. Yet one more way of impying that liberals are all gay.
Congratulations, Homophobia is being used against all of you, not just those of us who are gay.
