Am I the only one who would be enthusiastic about any major candidate?
Edited on Tue Feb-10-04 08:32 PM by jpgray
I've sent equal sums to Kucinich, Dean and Kerry, but I think Edwards, Clark and Sharpton are all great candidates. Are there any other DUers out there who feel the love for all our Dems? It seems that the vast majority actively despise one or more of our guys. :(

edit: I'd feel great about working for any one of these guys if they were the nominee.

1. I will fully support the nominee. Americans want change and...
our candidates will offer a change for the better.

3. Not at all.
While I like some more than others, I would be happy with any of them. They are all good men with exceptional qualities.

4. No
When making my decision of who to back, I really like Edwards, Kerry, Clark, and Kucinich. Ultimately I picked Edwards, but I would be happy with any of the others.

What separates conservatism from liberalism is not their views, but how they approach them. Conservatism has a dogmatic adherence to its views, whether they be good or bad. Liberalism keeps an open mind, tolerates other viewpoints, and hopefully comes to the right conclusion. It appears to me that many, but not most, of the members of this board have attached to their candidate in a dogmatic way.

5. Me too!
I like Clark best, but have no problems with any of them (except Lieberman, but he's gone... although I really miss the "joementum", cracked me up every time).

My husband (currently in Iraq) prefers Clark and Kerry, the candidates with a strong military background.

14. Thank You to you and your husband
I hope he stays safe. Our thoughts are with you.

I like Clark best, but would also be happy with Kerry. I like Edwards also.

6. I can only get enthusiastic over a candidate who can win.
I still think there are three of our guys who could beat bush, but none of them are apparently going to get the nomination.

As a young(er) person, I got tremendously enthusiastic over Bobby, Eugene McCarthy, and McGovern, and Carter in 1980. A lot of good that did me. I am far more careful now; disappointment sucks.

7. I like all of the candidates....
... more than Bush.

Just some more than others.

I personally think Edwards is the best, and sent money to him, but I will vote for any of them. And I want whatever result leads to Bush being out on his ear.

Impeachment, defeat in '04, resignation. I don't care. Bush must be OUT!

12. I'll vote for any of them
But I prefer Clark.

Still, whenever I think of how the Rethugs are destroying our country, it only reaffirms my ABB stance.

I'll support whoever has the best chance of beating Bush. Once the primaries are over, that is.

and I have not yet heard that. Then I will back the candidate he choses.

I don't care for Lieberman or Dean. But all the rest I like, of course in varying degrees.

15. No, you're not alone
Not only am I ultimately ABB, despite having a first choice, I think that this has been an especially gifted crop of candidates overall. Maybe that's why there's so much passion for individual choices. Most of the people running are capable of inspiring that in people.

18. Firmly ABB
Haven't donated to any campaign, but I have a change bucket that I've been collect for almost a year. Has more than 200 bucks in it now, and it's going to the eventual nominee (though I reckon I won't send them the actual bucket of change).

19. I'm lucky...
Those who I don't support have no chance anyway. I like Kerry and Edwards the best and have since before they started winning all over the place, and while I'm not too fond of Clark, I like him as well. Didn't care much for Dean or Gephardt, but I could see myself campaigning for the former if he got the nomination. But Edwards is the one who really gets me excited, and I think very highly of Kerry as well and he is a close, close second for me.

21. I think they're all great. . .
I can't say a bad thing about any of them. A few months back, I probably would have been a little stronger in my support of Dean, but as time goes by and I hear more and more of the other guys, I am less and less biased towards any single candidate.

22. I've done much the same thing as you have...
as another poster here said, compared to the other side, we have an embarrassment of riches. And it's great that the Democratic message (in a few different flavours) has continued to dominate the media...why else would MonkeyBoy consent to go on TV with that scary Mr. Russert? It's just his adolescent way of shouting "Me Too! Me Too!"at all the grownups.
