I frequently get called by the DNC for money contributions
so unlike my usual obliging them I will tell them to take a
walk.

I have never paid such close attention to any political process
before but I can tell you, this primary season is buffoonery.

At the end of the day, the broader Democratic electorate seems no
more informed or involved in a candidate than they were 1 year
ago.

Kerry's paper mache supports amounts to "duh, er...I think
he can beat Bush". Too me, that is not something to rest
easy on. Sure Kerry looks like the big man right now because
he's lambasting the rest of the field, but head to head w/ Bush
this is going to get a lot closer and the gloves will come
off.

Nonetheless, this party is fundamentally flawed, McAuliffe
is fundamentally flawed, and the system is fundamentally
flawed. I am out. It's too disgusting. I am resigning from
leadership in my local Democratic Committee. I can't wait
to tell the DNC why.

Frankly, like the many Kucinich supporters and Dean supporters
that feel like the rug was pulled out, I am fed up. This
is a big dog and pony show. TM can have it but he can't have
any more of my money or time.

I renounce any identification as a Democrat. Label me as a liberal
independent (small i intended).

Clark is a fine leader and has real progressive values. He has
been unfairly (just as much as DK)lied about and marginalized
in the press. TM and the leadership in the party let it happen.
If they can't have the darn sense to realize that Clark truly
would have brought new people into the party, then they just
don't have the sense to lead it. The fact that they sat idly
by when a great thinker like Kucinich was even more marginalized
even further compounds my disgust.

12. Dean was the main hope

...to break the stranglehold McAuliffe and the DLC have on the larger party. Yes, he was a flawed candidate (they all are), but he is the one who did an end run around all those old party hacks and formed his own organization from the ground up. I've seen the whispering campaign against him on this and other boards, and that cherrypicked video of his pep rally the presstitutes used to kill his campaign, and I know exactly where they came from.

Kerry's main advantage at this point is that he was smart enough to dump his DLC-picked handlers and hire one of Kennedy's guys to run his campain. Right after that, he found his voice, started talking issues and rising in the polls.

He's got a long way to go, though, before we're all rid of the Republican arm of the Democratic party. Those conservative southern political hacks have got to go. They're not kingmakers. They're sure-fired election losers.

5. The DLC/DNC cabala has lost a lot of the real ground troops

in the sham. They will be relegated to third party status after the loss in November and I think they know it and have actually planed. I can find no other reason to work actively against every grassroots campaign this season. They have lost every election sense they took control of the DNC. Bill Clinton won the prez by his own political skills and charisma. Theis is doomed to become the next Bull Moose party.

We told them to take a look at BBV and several other things several months ago. They hemmed and hawed and we told them if they really did something for us as citizens and democrats we would donate. They have not called back yet. MoveOn is a much better investment at this time, at least they do something for all of us.

I am staying a Democrat for this election. IF we win and I do not see a swing towards progressive governance then I will change because I will feel more comfortable about that then than I do now. But look what he did today: Kerry backed off the AWOL charges against bush. This was on ABC News tonight, and they showed his statement, in which he tried to walk away from things he had said earlier about bush.

This is a way to win a general election?? It shows that he can be intimidated, and Rove will smell that like a pack animal. This why I am worried about Kerry getting the nomination, and I certainly think the DNC will see to it that he gets it, anyway.

17. Here is what happened to Wes in my state and his supporters

In my state we have 9 districts. Each district must collect 500 valid signatures. Meaning that the people signing must be registered voters or they are invalid. Well, the dem party in my state did not help Clark get on. It was up to the supporters to stand outside in the freezing cold to get people to sign. I have been rediculed and kicked out of every parking lot you can think of, but WE did it. We are waiting for his candidacy form in the mail as I am typing. W/O a single sole from my dem party to even tell us where a good place to collect would be! I have been lied to and many people would not return my phone calls. Here is where I get irate. The party would not even let us collect at Democratic functions! Then, about a week ago our dem party started collecting FOR Kerry! He might not even get on the ballot in my state. So for those thinking Indiana might go blue...only if they write Kerry's damn name in.

19. I've never been active in politics

before this campaign and Clark is the first candidate I have ever donated to. At this point I would never give a red cent to the DNC, and if they ask me to they will get an earfull.

I will donate and work for Kerry, assuming he is the nominee, but the only Democratic organization that I would donate to is Moveon.org.

The only other candidate that I will consider donating to before the nomination is decided is Dennis Kucinich. I think his voice needs to continue to be heard and I am disgusted with the way he has been marginalized in this campaign.

If the Democrats lose to Shrub this November, I plan on dropping my lifelong Democratic registration (and I'm a 3rd generation Democrat).

I will re-register, either as an independent or else as a Green. I will be sure to let the DNC know all about it too. If I'm going to belong to a party that can't win elections, at least it will be a party that actually stands for something.

Then to blast Senator Kerry who was written off by the media not all that long ago only sounds like sour grapes. I think his support may be broad but I also think it
is thin. It could very well be like a large house of
cards and though I am mad at "the powers that be" I don't
