Bush poll numbers - a query of the 'inside baseball' DUers ......
So, today we hear that his numbers are deeper in the dumper than they've ever been .... and that they continue trending in the southerly direction.
My question is ...... while he has yet to descend to the 'lowest ever' approvals yet, he's been in the weeds for a **long** time. How long were any other president's approvals down in this neighborhood? Was any one of them as/more reviled for a longer time than 'The Worst President Ever'?
6. Truman's the only one who has *sustained* really low numbers.
When other presidents do badly in polls, they realize they're doing something wrong and work to correct it. Only Truman sustained low numbers for a long period of time. On the other hand, polling numbers back then weren't as realiable as today... just ask President Dewey.
