The Presidential office I'm afraid is now a dictatorship.
I am not trying to be funny on this i am very serious. look what has happened sense this guy has been in the White house. he starts a PREEMPTIVE!!! war on a country that never attacked us.he makes a law to tap into your phone, he makes a law that you can be arrested without having a lawyer represent. now he is going to continue this war going against what the American people say and even people within his own party say. basically he's saying fuck what everybody thinks I'm doing what i want because i am the President. And everybody just sits by with there thumbs up there noses and let this jackass do what he wants. And we went CRAZY over a president having sex in the White house and even impeached him. looking at history it is a total joke comparing what Clinton did and what this guy is doing. Next time in 08 i hope the american people vote a person who has sense and who has experience than somebody they can sit down and have a beer with. Kerry is the most experience I think to run in 08 not Hillary or Obama.

5. You're Wrong About Something....
AL GORE is the most experienced to run in '08, and he's the only candidate that can bring us out of the mess we find ourselves in. His experience as a former Senator and former Vice President will be invaluable.

12. You're Also Wrong About The Idiot Getting "Elected!" He DIDN'T...
most of my friends and myself would swear on whatever should be sworn on, that it was FRAUD! Fraud, both times out!!! Fraud from 2000, up to and including today!

I live in Florida, I live in District 13... Cruella's old District... I DO vote all the time, but seriously wonder if my vote EVER got counted at any time in the last SIX years!

15. Sorry... My Pathetic Attempt To Paint "The Idiot" As Corrupt AND Evil
was not meant to be an attack on you. I was just following up with my own assertions regarding the matter. Simply pointing out my opinion does not mean I was trying to ambush you.

I probably should have used a sarcasm smilie! Sometimes I wish many statements here weren't taken so "literally." But perhaps having to live as we have for the "reign of George" has made many of us feel we have to be defensive.

No harm intended from me, I have a habit of pushing the "fraud" label a lot. Never in all my time as a politcal activist have I ever felt such loathing for anyone in the WH, especially those who really shouldn't be there. To say I've become a cynic is an understatement.

6. Well I guess when you give up drinking ruling the world is. next move.
It is odd that so many Am. voted for this guy. He seemed pretty mild I guess unless you looked back and saw what a mess he left every place he went.Course he did say he hated nation building for sure. I think that this man thinks he is always right and will do just as he likes. He just may end up building Iraq in to a country as he tears this one apart. Could we find a ranch in Iraq for him?

7. yes it is
he has just taken personal command of the armed forces...it is time to start seriously considering impeachment or at least question his mental ability to lead this country.

what is really frightening is that many on the right are also coming to the same conclusions and he is dismissing them.

9. US is already a "dictatorship"
if the Congress and the American people can't rein in bush.as......they can not stop him from increasing troops and spending money from us, the taxpayers, then we have lost!!!!!!!

They can not or will not stop him........People ask why the people didn't stop other dictators (like Hilter)........well, looks like we can't stop this one either..

so what do we do.......sit back..wait....break our country of young men and women and extreme amounts of money............or march and demand that this SOB be impeached or both him and Cheney "resign"!!!!!!

20. Not a dictatorship in the 20th century class, more like Roman Dictatorships...
This was an office held by people appointed by the Roman Senate, who were given a strict term of only 6 months in office, usually only appointed during times of crises, most resigned as soon as they dealt with the problem in question, not even finishing the 6 month term, in many cases.

The difference between Roman Dictators and American Presidents, as a general rule, is significant, but we are talking about Bush setting up a "Unitary Executive". The most basic difference is the President is elected by a slate of Electors who are supposed to follow the majority from their states, while a Dictator of Rome was appointed by the Senate, had to previously have been a consul, or sponsored by one, and only served 6 months, no chance of being reappointed.

Now, the Dictators of Rome weren't as limited in power as the Presidency in the United States, at least in the past, they could do ANYTHING necessary, while in office, the President of the United States, on the other hand, is technically accountable to the people of the nation, in addition to being limited in power by the Constitution. However, Bush is changing this, drastically, with his signing statements, which, while not enforceable, show his attitude towards the law. Bush, I think, doesn't want to stay in office forever, that leaves him exposed, instead I think he wants to change the political landscape so that the Presidency is transformed from the People's Office into an office for a temporary dictator or king.
