Preachers who campaigned for george bush from their pulpits
should now be more then happy to turn their pulpits over to Army and Marine Corps Recruiters, since their hero wants to enlarge those two services. If pro-life "christians" find great solace in the slaughter of "ragheads" then they should have no problem doing the slaughtering themselves. Unless of course they are hypocritical constitution hating bastards who can pick and choose in their holy book and cite chapter and verse why "they" shouldn't be bothered with sullying themselves for the land of the free.

4. When you think about it
It won't be at all hard to fill those empty slots with first the Preachers and their adoring flocks. Then, move on to the Young Republicans who preach War, War War. Then, moving on to the Bush cousins and we should have our quota.

that is not primarily used for religious services.

Religion should not be used to make a profit.

Throw the money changers out of the Temple.

7. Hebrew comment?
No need to make reference to the jews of old. Money-changers is a derogatory term that historically refers to the jewish people.

I thought "money-changers" was a reference to one of the many special services provided to the folk going to the temple (like selling sacrificial animals at an inflated price) so that the individuals could trade their common currency for church currency (i.e., change the money) (with a fee for the exchange, of course), such that they could then make donations, purchase other services, or the aforementioned animals for offering. I didn't realize that this was also a slight against the jewish people.

Edited to add:
from wikipedia.

In the episode, Jesus is stated to have visited the Temple in Jerusalem, Herod's Temple, at which the courtyard is described as being filled with livestock and the tables of the money changers, who changed the standard Greek and Roman money for special blessed Jewish and Tyrian money, which were the only coinage that could be used in Temple ceremonies. According to the Gospels, Jesus took offence to this, and so, creating a whip from some cords, drives out the livestock, scatters the coins of the money changers, and turns over their tables, and those of the people selling doves.

10. This was my thought
It wasn't meant as a anti-Semitic comment. This the first time I have heard of that reference.

6. NO church/religion/religious organization
should be tax-exempt. None of them. Not the churches, the schools, the preachers/priests/imams, NONE of it should be tax-exempt.

LOL!!!

In my 5-plus decades on this planet, I've never heard that one! And believe me, there were times I could've used it!

Thanks for the enlightenment! :hi:
