I Don't Get it -- It Looks Like William Jefferson Won?
Edited on Sat Dec-09-06 10:22 PM by Cheney Killed Bambi
Baaah! How could Louisianans vote for a Crook? (William Jefferson is the Louisiana Congressman who was caught with $100K in his freezer).

Update <2006-12-9 21:51:14 by Tim Tagaris>: I'm trying to piece stuff together on the fly here. TV shows Jefferson opening up a 2k vote lead with 45% of the precincts reporting. Well, forget that... I just heard 2 seconds ago that channel 8 (fox) has called the race for William Jefferson. And that's that. I'm going to leave the in-hotel hotel room and head up to the "party.

2. I hear, because they trust the FBI even less.
They see a black man persecuted who hasn't been even charged with a crime.

Yet.

3. They were worried that gays might get married
Seriously, William Jefferson, with cold cash in freezer, thinks gays shouldn't marry. His challenger, Karen Carter, supports gay marriage.
In this African American majority district, that made the difference.

4. Jefferson
I think Jefferson was a victim of entrapment. Bush used the FBI to find a Democratic congressman who might be susceptible to bribe, and then set up the sting to take some of the heat away from the long list of Republicans who've profited way more than a paltry $90K.

5. Well it is time to drag him before the ethics committee
I want to see the Democrats go after him HARD immediately after taking congress. He is a disgrace to the party, and until they deal with him they are going to have a very difficult time "draining the swamp".

The guy is a criminal, he does not belong in Congress he belongs in prison along with all the Republicans who were engaged in the same type of corruption.

10. Better luck to Ms. Carter in her next try
That should come shortly, as soon as Jefferson is fitted for an orange jumpsuit.
