Bush should be impeached without pension or Secret Service protection...?
He came into office just after they raised the salary of the President to $400,000 per year. If they knew what type of job he was going to do, maybe they would have cut it to minimum wage? Even then, he would have been overpaid.

Now, we hear rumors that he plans on buying a huge ranch, about 13 square miles, down in Paraguay? And they are going to put an extra $11 million dollars in Homeland Security for his protection. I resent that! I resent that my tax dollars will go to protect his sorry ass. I would support impeachment that would take away all his future benefits.

2. and when that trial is concluded
He should be recalled to active duty, put in uniform, confined to a military base and court martialed for desertion. When found guilty, the Hague and the Air Force can argue over who gets to incarcerate his worthless ass for the rest of his worthless life.

9. I have a better idea than confinement to base
"I hereby sentence you, George Walker Bush, to life at hard labor, rebuilding the neighborhoods in New Orleans that suffered so greatly from your criminal neglect." (gavel drops)

P.S. still looking good for early Jan. :bounce:

3. This should be some consolation
Secret service protection shouldn't cost much with his sorry ass in solitary confinement.

5. Impeachment here seems to have become synonymous with conviction
and removal from office. Clinton was impeached and did he lose his pension or Secret Service protection? It is hugely unlikely that Bush would ever be convicted, the same as Clinton. You see criminal cases which are less complicated that take years to come to a conclusion. What makes anyone think that this Gordian knot will come untied in only 2 years without even an ongoing investigation which was the case during Clinton's last term? The Bush bunch cut their teeth during the Nixon years and make his secrecy appear amateurish. There will be a lot of dodging and weaving, stalling and stonewalling to let the clock run out. But consider, if Bush makes it through the end of his term and there is still a criminal investigation going on the involves him, why could he not be convicted then if the Democrats control the White House and there is nobody to pardon him?

8. But Clinton did not brag about violating the constitution, nor did he repeatedly
lie to congress, nor did he start an illegal war of aggression, and by the way Clinton was elected Twice. aWoL was illegally selected by the SCOTUS and then stole the 2004 election.

In other words I do not feel the American people will weep when lille prince george is impeached incited and imprisoned.

We need to ensure that the 2008 elections have paper ballots and random audits.

Then have open full investigations of the bushivick crime, then let the Senate vote their convictions on live TV.

6. Note: Secret Service
Due to an Act of Congress, former President Bill Clinton is the last president to receive lifetime Secret Service protection.

All persons taking office as president since 20 January 1997 are only entitled to Secret Service protection for a total of 10 years after leaving office.

Since Bush took office on 20 January 2001, he's the first one subject to the 10-year rule. Ergo, if he were to serve out his term, which expires on 20 January 2009, he'll lose his Secret Service protection effective 20 January 2019.
