Tweety, come back! All is forgiven...
It's official: Joe Scarborough has out-Tweety-ed Tweety.

I shouldn't have watched it. (slap!) But I did. Joe Scarborough, along with the ubiquitous Pat Buchanan, and Lawrence O'Donnell (in a slight concession to sanity), discussed Poppy's latest breakdown. Lowlights from Joe:

"He (Poppy) put together the greatest coalition in the history of the globe" (for the first Gulf war).

Come again???!?

"Jeb Bush has a truly brilliant mind"

:puke:

A "truly brilliant mind"?? In WHAT universe??!

Paraphrase of Joe: "And if John McCain wins the 2008 nomination, I would be very, very surprised if he didn't have Jeb Bush right there as his vice presidential nominee..."

AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! Never, ever before have I been so glad that I don't happen to own a gun. Yes, I'm afraid it would've been turned on the ol' noggin, and I'd have been puttin' the old big toe down there to pull the trigger, after strategically taping the barrel to my forehead.

Joe's performance (somewhat muffled, since he had his head rather far up the collective Bush hindquarters) was.... BEYOND TWEETY!

1. On Bush I and the coalition...
Definitely hyperbole...think WWII...but

Compared to the "coalition of the willing" Bush II put together, Bush I's effort seems positively brilliant (after all we did have Saudi Arabia and Israel on the same side)...

2. My own guess is that all this focus on Bush pere
is designed to do damage control for the R side. You never saw the old f*ck around until his little boy got his ass handed to him, but now he's everywhere. It's as if the Republicans are saying, "See? Not all Republicans are fuckups."

8. exactly
It's the pity solicitation. They do it every goddamned time W. gets in too much trouble. Next, Bar will come out swinging. A family of ghouls, they are.

12. You and Julien are right.
We're supposed to say "awwww".

Well, I, for one, don't feel the slightest bit of sentiment or emotion or pity or warmth, when I watch this old bastard--father of murderers and maybe a murderer himself (some people think large-scale drug dealing ends a lot of otherwise salvageable lives...)--turn on the waterworks.

It is truly disgusting to watch this rich old bastard parade his weakness and wimpiness around while he and his vicious wife are VERY CLEARLY oblivious to all the suffering around them--much of which has been created not only by their evil spawn(s), but also by their own avaricious, cutthroat, continual quest for GELT.

3. We could have a field day with a McCain/Jeb ticket!
Edited on Tue Dec-05-06 09:53 PM by rocknation
If Jeb's the frontrunner, we tar him with "the Bush brush." And if he's the VP, we either laugh McCain's "independent-thinking maverick" act off the stage, or portray Jeb as the next Dick Cheney--the REAL power behind the throne!

13. Oh--and that reminds me! There was some obnoxious woman on there
on Scarborough's show. She was from the NY Times. She was apparently there to nurture the fondly-held "McCain is a MAVERICK" myth that is so dear to so many of the big, domineering, media outlets.

What a load of horseshit! That scum McCain is no "maverick". He's a calculating political animal who is on autopilot when it comes to seeking more and more and more power and attention. I'm as sick of him as I am sick of Bush.

did you see who had had on tonight? Cillizza, Huffington Post guy, and someone (didn't catch name) from Media Matters - he's had Richard Wolff on as well - the line up is looking more and more like KO's. The other night he was screaming at Pat Buchanan??!!?? Just wish he would make up his mind.....

5. Here's another way he was Tweetying.
He kept THE HELL INTERRUPTING his guests! Even when he agreed with them!

The piece about whether or not Bill Orally is flipping paranoid made no sense. BOTH his guests said "Yeah, he's gone off the deep end," yet Joe insisted on fighting them on it and contradicting them--"Isn't he just saying that Fox News is an alternative to all those liberal media shows?" His guests pointed out--hello!--WHAT "liberal media shows"? Only Keith's even comes close (which Joe agreed with, and pointed out that even Keith doesn't claim to be liberal). So it was like he was completely contradicting himself!

For a topper, at the end, he showed the clip where Billo makes the stupid claim that NBC wants America to lose the war, and says "If I were him I'd focus on my own show instead of saying these things about other networks." Which, of course, negated all the defense he had done of Billo's paranoia.

Watching that and the part about Poppy just reminded me of why I love Keith. Keith NEVER interrupts, and he never switches arguments in midstream. Also, he doesn't have Pat Buchanan on every damn segment of his show!

9. Barbara Walters once said...
..that everyone in Washington wants to sit by Buchanan at dinners because he is such a great story-teller and conversationalist and gossip. And I guess Baba ought to know one.

11. I assure you, Joe Scarborough is a republican shill, through & through, and nothing else
It's been some hours now since my first burst of outrage (right after watching him.) You probably already know all this, but: Joe Scarborough was all over the cable channels during the 2000 election debacle. He did nothing but speak up loudly and aggressively in favor of Bush and the repukelicans.

Of course, things were different then. For one thing, to my eternal shame, I was then rooting for Bush. (How in the HELL could I not have known?? WHY didn't I give at least a LITTLE credence to what so many people said--so many people had already nailed Junior for what he really is, a lifelong failure who probably never had a sober moment between the ages of about 15 and 40, a perpetual adolescent (or younger) who never did an adult thing in his life and didn't want to try, a piece of shit who is/was so vapid that even the prospect of making mega-mega bucks didn't move him (and that prospect has moved many a cynical repukelican scumbag.)

Anyway, back then I was part of the coalition of the blind, and Joe was still a republican congressman from the very republican panhandle of Florida. It was only later that his wife divorced him--for infidelity and/or God knows what else, I presume--amid reports of the (unexplained) dead girl found in his office. He left congress faster than the speed of light. I assume his wife was going to "talk" to the press about something.

He has never really ceased to be a cheerleader for all his old republican buddies back in the Rich Boys Club on the Hill. He has only recently pretended to be "serious" and "balanced" because the wind is changing and it appears there are actually a few people out there in the hinterlands who are FUCKING SICK of the Perpetual Motion Republican Talking Points Machine that cable news has become. Count me as one of "the few".

16. Yep ...
It is just AMAZING that the guy has such a CLEAR history, and has branded himself the way he has ... The champion of "middle america" ... JESUS, middle america is made up of rich, intern killing philaders ???

Man, go back a year, and this guy was one never ending republican butt kissing, liberal bashing EVERY time he opened his mouth, prototypical MSM shill, only with that clear history ... It was only last summer when it was clear that the winds were shifting BIG time, that he started breaking ranks and bashing the republicans ...

17. Boy, was he ever. Back then, he rivalled Narcotics Addict Limbaugh
for the sheer hateful, cynical, one-sided-ness of his spew.

His claiming to be a champion of "middle America" is like O.J. Simpson claiming to be a champion of protecting women against domestic violence.

who has any balls. And she is unfortunately as mean as a wild boar during rutting season.
