Got back from Tennessee last night
Our weekend started off at the Arcade Restaraunt where Gert was speaking. She gave a wonderful speech and then answered questions. Her answers were very good and I was proud of the job she did.

Lord, it was COLD during our canvassing. We worked about 300 houses in one neighborhood. The response we recieved was wonderful. We put up several yard signs and gave out "American Son" DVDs. There are some strong Wes Clark supporters in Memphis, Tennessee.

Saturday night, we made phone calls and, again, the response was very good. I spoke to several who said they were voting for our man.

Sunday, we did some more canvassing.

I find the response "on the ground" to very different from what the latest polls indicate - at least in Memphis.

Then, today, I learn that we have been endorsed by George Jones! He has recorded a radio ad that will begin running today. Zogby had the top three backward in Oklahoma and may very well have it backwards again.

One other thing - the local papers are calling more of a tight three way race than Zogby has indicated as well.

8. Hey, we met a guy from New Jersey who was there working
His name was Jeremy. He was in our canvassing group. He was full of energy and staying for the long haul (Tuesday). When we were doing visibility in front of HQ, he would take the "Honk for Clark" sign and go jumping down the side of the road. He was great.

I can understand his excitement -- we don't have a primary until June 8th. :(

10. Yeah, ours is May 18
I so resent having my choices relegated to a nonimportant status - or at least the attempt being made to do that. Come on Democrats, give us something to work for!

Your New Jersey guy really was great! He was constantly working away. After our 300 houses, he was headed back out on his own. Our group from AR had to go check in our motel and get settled. He was determined to keep right on working. I never saw him yesterday, so I bet he was already out there walking the path.
