FIRST introduced legislation: Federal Min. Wage increase.
Make the GOP vote against this. Then proceed to beat them over the head with their votes. I have faith in Rahm and the Dems.

3. Last year Kennedy authored a bill for increase in min wage
And he had bi-partisan votes for it to pass - but then I believe it was Frist who attached an ammendment to it that took funds away from health clinics who performed abortions or something to that effect.

Don't expect it to be smooth sailing just because we won yesterday.

4. ;The only people this will hurt are the ones with a majority of
minimum wage workers and they deserve to be hurt. Most companies do not pay the minimum wage. It will have little effect on consumers but will effect company proffits.

6. I agree. This is the PERFECT place to start.
Bush has said he wouldn't stall this and it would be a great first victory for the Democratic leadership. It would certainly help secure votes for 2008.
