2. I've been watching / downloading the numbers....
Edited on Wed Nov-08-06 03:56 AM by file83
....It's been looking okay, but his lead shrank considerably when they yanked the Yellowstone numbers for recount. When they count those, we'll see what happens - his lead should increase back again.

In Yellowstone, Tester had about a 1273 vote lead (18161 Tester to 16888 Burns)

4. this is bullshit, man
every single time out...every single election from 2000 onward....some bullshit irregularities start to show up and it is always just enough to give the slimmest margins of victories to GOP...this time the Senate. in an attempt to keep Dem accounting of this giant clusterfuck at bay...

they NEEEEED to get the Dem lawyers and spokespeople up to Montana PRONTO so Tester can declare victory and the crowds can chant for that GOP beotch to stop being such a sore loser and just concede.

CALL, WRITE, do whatever you gotta.

We're taking the goddam senate.

12. I think Tester has a decent shot...
In MT-Sen, the two counties that haven't reported according to CNN are Meager County and Yellowstone County. Meager has less than 1000 voters, at least according to the last presidential election, and it went 71-25 for Bush. Yellowstone has over 66,000 voters, and it went 61-36 for Bush. Considering that Tester is going to do much better than Kerry is, it's hard to say which way Yellowstone will go but Tester has the advantage, and I'll explain why later. But Meager will probably stay with Burns. It seems like most of the other places have reported in. If it matters, the Democratic govenor of Montana, won Yellowstone county by about 51 to 45 percent over his Republican opponent. And one the election overall 50-46, and since it's pretty close now, with a slight edge to Tester, he has a decent shot at winning that populous county.

It appears that a few other counties that are going for Burns, still have a few precincts still to report. But there are still a few that are going for Tester that haven't reported in yet.

Tester was leading in Yellowstone. Let's hope that it's still the same whenever they show up again...

16. Yeah, the tinfoil side of me fears a sudden reversal...
I don't understand why they had to erase the existing results on the websites to do a recount anyway. Are they afraid of how a sudden switch in results would look if the recount goes to Repukes? Or (more paranoid) are they actually planning to make such a switch happen?

I hope this is nothing. I really do.

17. They zeroed out 5 counties about 2 hours ago, but now CBS and CNN
suddenly have tidy little totals in 3 of those counties, even though the SoS web page doesn't.

We've been tracking it at this link: <http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=2942014&mesg_id=2942014>
