shake a stick at, without long-term damage to the stick-shaking appendage.
Republicans understand the values and priorities of the American people.
Now, I know that's not right--did Noe and Cunninghan represent our values and priorities? Did Tom Delay? Are George "macaca" Allen and Rick "man on dog" Santorum exemplars of the American outlook? I truly wonder.
We will win this election because our priorities and our values do not shift with the latest political opinion poll or focus group.
Does that translate to, "We know what we are paid by our lobbyists, I mean campaign contributors, to do, and god-damn the will of the people?" Because I could see that.
We will win this election because we got a good record to run on.
"We've only made a hash of Afghanistan by not doing in the Taliban, and Iraq by not clarifying the point for which we engaged, not even continue the war, let alone even considering an exit strategy, we've vastly enlarged the deficit (wherever did 9 billion dollars US taxpayer money ever go in Iraq--or even some half million bits of weapons we can't locate?), done next to nothing (no wait, it was nothing, less than nothing) for working people, and you should really be one needles and pins to see what we'll do next," I think I'm getting the hang of this translation-business.
For decades our public school system failed too many American children, so we passed the No Child Left Behind Act and demanded that schools show results in return for federal dollars
"We may even put Federal dollars into, eventually. If there's any 'left' after, you know, the war. Which has no forseeable "after".
And the days of our poor seniors having to choose between medicine and food are over.
"Let 'em eat (doughnut) holes!"
We are modernizing our border.
"We are building a 700 mile fence--who *knew* it was a landscaping problem?"
Eek. Wearying. I can't even go through the "small business" vs. the "evil death tax" nonsense, or I shall be ill. (Hmm--but haven't any of these "big" small business owners ever considered estate planning--or not having assets in their own estate but as assets in name of the company--just wondering? Maybe by death tax they mean "Trustafarian Inconvenience Fee"?)
