It's not Dems' votes I'm worried about. It's Republicans' votes.

Call me kooky, but...

I have a sick feeling that black box programmers have figured out a way
to automatically place the votes of registered Republicans
in the R column, even if they vote for Dem candidates.

Yes, my tin foil Stetson is firmly in place.

I'm leaving for class, but I'll check back later to see if anyone
has any psychotherapy recommendations for me.

1. Unless Rove can pull another wedge issue out of his capacious ass,
it seems like a lot of GOPs are thoroughly disgusted and are likely to stay home. That's what I'm hearing around here, anyway. There is simply nothing left to energize them. They know Congress is corrupt beyond repair, they know everyone in the White House is a liar, at the very least, and they know the war in Iraq was a stupid mistake that may turn fatal if Stupid doesn't get his military and imperial ambitions curbed. Fear has lost its punch and hate no longer feels as good as it did six years ago.

Of course, NM has never been much of a hotbed of GOP fervor, anyway.

2. Don't blame you
programmers can do wonderful things that others can't decipher. Once it is in machine code there is no way to tell what the source code really is. So you could present a cheerios box as the source code and who would know.
I have been trying to get this across to my county chairs and they look at me with glazed eyes. Counters, date or time specific triggers on and on. Howe would you ever know.
We have paper ballots that are scanned. I have been pushing for random audits, but it will never happen.

to dems.....like they will all switch over from Repub to Dem..and then they(the repubs) can say it was a fraudulent election and that they have to put King George in absolute power to keep the peace....

6. The irony is that the Republicans might actually do something
effective if they claimed the election was fraudulent.
