WaPo: "...Charlie Cook Has the Prophecy Market Cornered"
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/10/24/AR2006102401248.html

By Dana Milbank
Wednesday, October 25, 2006; Page A02

The pharaoh had Joseph. The Greeks had the Oracle at Delphi. Washington has Charlie Cook.

Please tell us, Seer of Future Congresses, how many seats the Democrats will pick up in the House on Election Day.

"Twenty to 35," Cook answers.

And how about in the Senate, OProphet on the Potomac?

"At least four," the man with the crystal ball says. "Most likely five or six."

1. Don't get me started. Dana Milbank, the rethug apoligist?
I know he's on Olbermann a lot, but he's too snarky even for me, but might not have anything left to apologize for.
Cook? I'm waitin' and a-seein' with him. And hoping!

5. I posted and read Milbanks column, for Mr. Cook's predictions...

Dana has really peed me off too, in the past. And I even listened to Hannity interviewing Cheney today. An I don't have to tell you what I think of those two! BTW, near the end of the Cheney interview, (xmradio) It sounded to me like Cheney had a strong feeling that the House was a lost cause, saying it will be harder to govern (keep us safe) not having a GOP controlled congress.

6. Milbank got his info from a lunch thing where Cook was a featured speaker
and panelist, i believe what cook said without the filter of Milbank, Charlie said it's useless to predict numbers of 30 because he said you don't have anything underneath it--meaning any real info. I cannot stand Milbank either.

2. I hope he's wrong about the Senate. I really don['t want to go through
Cheney having the damn tie breaker again!

Yes, I'll take what I can get, and5 or 6 would be better than 4. I'm really hopingsome other Pub does something really stupid, or get's caught in the next few days with ties to Abramoff or another page or SOMETHING!

3. As long as we're predicting, here's mine:
27 House seats, 8 Senate seats and a majority of governors...I'll say 27.

7. Ohhh, I like that! Especially the Governors!
I was thinking about that last night. Ifa lot of Pubs are exposed for their illegal dealings with Abramoffand are forced to resign, in many States, the Governor gets to name a replacement.
wouldn't it be wonderful if a lot of new Dem Governors replaced the dirty Pub Reps & Sens!
