Is anyone following Iowa Electronic Markets?
The market as I understand it is an option market for betting on real world events.

A coworker sent me this link:
http://iemweb.biz.uiowa.edu/quotes/congress06_quotes.ht...

This graph that says it all :
http://iemweb.biz.uiowa.edu/graphs/graph_house06.cfm
Seems no one is betting the GOP gains seats, and the bottom has fallen out of the value of the GOP HOLD options. The option that has the GOP Loosing control has almost doubled in value.

This marketplace according to my coworker predicted the Bush slim win in 04.

Fascinating stuff.

I am however betting on the voting machines saving Rove and BushChenney's hides.

1. frat boy business-major wannabes playing stock market with serious
events kinda makes me ill -- I don't get the fascination.

As to the voting machines, work like hell to get out the vote, and do what you can to be an election observer -- If the machines are stealing votes in your precinct, document it and raise hell about it.
