I didn't see either debate, but one would hope that a 2008 frontrunner would win her Senatorial debate handily against a mediocre Republican challenger. And maybe she did- maybe Morris is full of it. But Hillary has two huge strikes against her going in to 2008 1. the irrational hatred a large number of Americans feel for her and 2. her vote in favor of the Iraq war.
To overcome those handicaps, she needs to be a very good public speaker and debater. That's why it would concern me if she didn't win her Senatorial debate handily.
Maybe I'm just smitten with Obama's performance on talk shows lately, I just don't want to see us blow this huge opportunity we have now out of some feeling of inevitability that Hillary will be the candidate. At this point, I'd love to see Obama and I'd prefer Edwards or even Clark over Hillary because at least they have a *chance* to win over Joe Six Pack. I don't think Hillary has that chance.
