Latest Poll Numbers From ARC
Improvement in Bush Economic Job Approval Rating
Has No Impact on Overall Job Approval

While more Americans say they approve of the way George W. Bush is handling the economy at any time in the past year, his overall job approval remains unchanged according to the latest survey from the American Research Group.

Among all Americans, 36% approve of the way Bush is handling his job as president and 58% disapprove. When it comes to Bush's handling of the economy, 42% approve and 53% disapprove. In September, 33% of Americans approved of the way Bush was handling the economy and 61% disapproved. The last time Bush's approval rating for handling the economy topped 40% was in March 2005.

2. His approval on the economy stems from two factors
1. Lower oil prices.

2. This is more physchological than anything...but the Dow hitting 12,000 is another issue.

Out of those two, I would say that oil prices are what is boosting his approval on the economy.

3. Suckers' rally! No connection to reality....
I think that we are going to see a massive collapse of the dollar and the stock market in the next year. It may be brought on by a Bush-inspired apocalypse but it will be fueled by the massive deficit that the Republicans have built up with their military expenditures.

4. ONLY reason for bush economy (%) improvement are wall street.......
numbers and oil and gasoline companies' price reduction assistance. Both these 'numbers' will likely change drastically AFTER the elections; NOT because of Democrat wins, either!
