and this comment ( If the Bush administration is lying so vehemently about the number of dead Iraqis, one can only imagine the extent of lying about dead Americans…) makes me think of the restrictions on photographing the coffins coming in. If you can count and compare the statistics, maybe the two wouldn't match. Gee, ya think?

that if any military personnel was not killed in the field, but died later at the hospital, they were not counted as casualties. I suppose those were referred to as KIA, but the others should be counted, too. You know darned well that many of them died on the way to, or in, the hospital...in Germany, or after they returned to the U.S. We'll never know the exact number.
