makes me think of the restrictions on photographing the coffins coming in. If you can count and compare the statistics, maybe the two wouldn't match. Gee, ya think?

3. It was my understanding from the first day of the war...

that if any military personnel was not killed in the field, but died later at the hospital, they were not counted as casualties. I suppose those were referred to as KIA, but the others should be counted, too. You know darned well that many of them died on the way to, or in, the hospital...in Germany, or after they returned to the U.S. We'll never know the exact number.
