Were You Watching? I Think We Just Saw The October Surprise
Edited on Sun Oct-22-06 11:59 PM by MannyGoldstein
Folks, I just realized that this weekend's Iraq policy-shift-that's-not-a-policy-shift may well be Rove's October surprise.

Is your ass feeling as whupped as mine? :rofl:

1. I have been thinking about the Paris Peace Talks.
But, no, I'm not feeling whipped.

8. Absolutely.
Anyone who works for a living knows about the economy. I see Junior's new "strategy" and I immediately think of the Bob Marley song "Them Belly Full (But We Hungry)"...

"Cost of livin' gets so high,
Rich and poor they start to cry:
Now the weak must get strong;
They say, "Oh, what a tribulation!"
Them belly full, but we hungry;
A hungry mob is a angry mob..."

5. I'm a little sore
from sitting here reading DU all day.

This policy shift "that is not really a policy shift cause we never said stay-the-course" doesn't surprise me though... I've been wondering when they were going to try to pull that out of their asses for weeks. :shrug:

6. Watching what? Lots of fluff signifying nothing, as usual? There
was a meeting. Dimson is still a dumbass who refuses to concede he did anything wrong. Standard ops.

best boy, Jim Baker, can convince Dear Leader to compromise in ANY WAY.

Have you not heard the statement this evening from the White House that the meeting with The Generals is exaggerated?

Has Dear Leader EVER compromised, in any way, during his Presidency?

I rest my case - on with the death spiral of continued occupation. :(

Its just talk...No one is paying any attention to what these people are saying anymore.
Even the Wall Street Journal admits that even terra only gives 'em a "dead cat bounce" nowadays.

18. I thought we were doing the 'stay the course' thing?
Mission accomplished, Freedom on the march, fight them over there, yada yada yada. :shrug:

Btw, where is that greased up liberal media on this? Bastard looser appeasers pieces of crap, if they were reporting real news instead of trying to sell a war we would never been in this position. Watch em deflate the monster just so they can play with it another day. What a surprise, who would of thunk it :shrug:

13. Well, that went over like a lead balloon. How dumb do they think
American voters are? I know, I know, damned dumb, but still!

This sounds like ye olde flip-flop, ie., weenying out to me. Not the classic cowboy hubris we're used to. It won't gain * anything but a buncha I told you so's. It's pretty boring, too, as far as big surprises go. More of a blip than a bang. But I don't have cable. How is this being reported in the news?

Rove has something nasty in the works, but I don't know how they'll overcome Foleygate and 16% approval ratings in this short of time.

and they are screwed, unless they can pull a real fluffy rabbit out of their pointy hat. the only gambit they've left is IRAN i think and i'm hoping cooler heads have prevailed on that issue. i expect we'll know shortly.

17. I'm not feeling the huge import just yet.
Is it that big a shift from "Stay-the-course-even-though-Iraq-is-a-disaster" to "We'll-maybe-switch-tactics-despite-already-having-screwed-the-whole-thing-up?"
