AP: Republicans Target 3 Senate Races (firewall strategy)

Republicans Target 3 Senate Races
By DAVID ESPO , 10.09.2006, 05:13 PM

In an unusual move, the Republican National Committee is investing
heavily in television advertising in Senate races in Ohio, Tennessee
and Missouri in what officials describe as a firewall strategy designed
to limit Democratic gains in the Nov. 7 elections and maintain the GOP
majority.

The move reflects a desire on the part of Ken Mehlman, the Republican
Party chairman, and other strategists to exercise more control over the
drive to retain a majority, according to several Republican officials.
They said the decision has caused friction with officials at the National
Republican Senatorial Committee, which historically has been the only
party entity to run commercials on behalf of its candidates.

The move also raises questions about the priority assigned by the RNC
to races in other states where Republicans are in jeopardy - Pennsylvania,
Montana and Rhode Island among them.

Officials at both party committees said they were working together.

3. So they think they can save DeWine?
That's interesting. And does this mean they have written off NJ and RI?

I never know whether to believe this kind of stuff or not. Misinformation is one of KKKRove's major tactics.

4. It also means they have written off Blackwell...
The parties buy blocks of time before the elections get going and then parse out the time where they think it is needed...

So money that was for the Ohio Governors race can be switched over to the Senate Race...

I think they are barking up the wrong tree...

Brown is not afraid to take that little punk mother fucker to the shed if he has too...

I am so embarassed that he is my senator...
