2. Kerry lover here to join you in congratulating him for
being funny, clever, and getting excellent points in. I think Bill Maher was actually impressed, as was the audience.

16. I went to hear him speak in 2004 and he was great, but there was a problem
translating that to television because of the use of edited clips that were usually presented out of context. They also did a number on him with lighting whenever he did do an appearence in-studio for an interview.

He has learned to better use the medium of television to his own advantage now. Sad to say, but television audiences care less about what you say than how you say it. I guess these are things you learn from a national campaign that wouldn't come up or be as crucial in local campaigns.

One thing about John Kerry: he always improves.

4. I've been saying that John Kerry has been the same all along
and that he is the same man with the same style as in 2004. I meant that as a compliment because I think he's a fine guy and did the best he could in a difficult race. I think I've been wrong though, because he's definately even better than he was two years ago. I really hope he runs again so he'll have the chance to show all the naysayers how wrong they are.

6. Isn't it a political advantage for him to run again....
what are they going to bring up the same garbage?? It would be de-bunked faster WAY faster than it was back then, if they did try... and most of the things Kerry said, were proven to be TRUE AND RIGHT.

I'm a Kerry lover too and he IS the same, just more relaxed...like Gore got after his running/winning/losing experience...

Kerry would be smart to run again...I would LOVE to see Teresa as 1st lady... Kerry/Obama...two classy guys...

13. this is what i think. it does not mater who we get to run, r will define
our candidate, media will repeat and the candidate will be fighting it all the way. they will create the lies to our candidate endlessly that will have to be addressed. they dont have anything on kerry.

and .... kerry tried the higher road. i though real significant him saying i thought? that was what the people wanted.... as people say it is what they wanted

but kerry learned

stick a boot up their ass

kerry has shown the last two years how he would run his campaign a second time. he has been THE most vocal dem, even beyond dean, and dean is pretty loud

i see all plusses with kerry

8. Thanks, ProSense and whometense
I watched Kerry on Maher Friday night and hoped someone would put the interview on YouTube so I could watch it again. Kerry was wonderful! If he decides to run again in 08, he'll certainly have my support.

9. That was fun!
I don't have HBO, so thanks for posting that link. Kerry has a terrific sense of humor, doesn't he? :)

And I like the feistiness. Still polite, still refined, but..."boot up the ass"--that was just great.

Mr. Kerry, :yourock:

11. with all maher bitching about kerry, reality... he knew the truth
he spoke the truth in asking the questions to kerry face, pretends otherwise sniping at him behind his back.

i thought it was an excellent interview and exposed the obvious, so many ignore. it also shows what kerry has learned today that willmake him an excellent candidate in 2008. he is already so far ahead of anyone else, from this 2004 experience

14. a K and an R - I saw it and it was great
especially the 1600 Pennsylvania Drive line - I couldn't believe he said that.

If there's a video anywhere of Lincoln Chafee from the same night, it's kind of interesting, as well - he has some not-so-complimentary things to say about Joe lieberman when Maher suggests the two just switch parties. I sort of can't help but like Chafee when I see him - he just picked the wrong party.
