Bad news aside, everything they say and do seems to be making things worse. Naughty e-mails? Turning Afghanistan over to the Taliban? Refusing to file ethics charges?

This has got to be the worst campaign in American history. They can't win a news cycle. I have yet to see the malicious attacks on Democrats they were promising. For over a week they have had to expend all their effort either responding to charges or sticking their feet into their mouths. It seems like the only party they are attacking successfully is themselves. Are they deliberately trying to lose?

6. It's simple:
The repukes have become addicted to power for power's sake. Not to govern, not to address the issues before the nation in a considered and sober manner. Just for the power and for the cover that power affords, cover that allows them to indulge themselves in whatever "naughty" things as have captured their attention for the moment.

It's their perception of the covering aspect of power that has lead to all of the indictments for corruption and sex crimes that we have been regaled with, over lo these long years. Surely, there is more of those to come.

They became addicted to power for power's sake and as we all know, the wheels eventually come off for addicts. Usually, terribly. Terribly but spectacularly.

Who knows, it may be one of the undiscovered laws of the universe.

Then again, If I had a nickel for every time I wrote the following, over the last 6 years, I would be a rich man:

After Hubris Comes Nemesis.

10. Arrogance ....
They got both houses of congress and the executive branch and the courts oh yeah and most of the fucking state governments as well.

I mean shit they got away with covering this up for a year at the very least and five years at the most.

Its pure arrogance.

11. The GOP has always been like a cheap sweater.
Sure, it keeps you warm for a while. But soon, and often when you just need it the most, the ends of the threads start fraying. So you pick off a little fluff, and then a little more. The fluffiness goes and the sweater begins looking like an old wire screen. Finally, somebody pulls at a loose end. The end starts unravelling at the edge, and as one pulls at the yarn it all comes undone.

No more warmth. No more security. Just a hand full of tattered yarn.

12. It's still a breaking story, more players are coming into...play - need
at least another week for the repugs to figure which way to proceed. Hastert is screaming for Gonzo-bot to intervene so... it's still too early!
