Tis the Season to Remember
Edited on Mon Aug-28-06 08:53 AM by Husb2Sparkly
So .... the Army's Corps of Engineers is saying "Oh well. We tried. But these levees ..... may not hold." Fortunately, it appears that a young Hurricane Ernesto has decided not to test the levees.

A little further north, there still remain two holes, deep into the bedrock of the southern tip of Manhattan Island. Now nice and neat, with fancy fences and lots of 'remember when' signs and placards for the tourists. Meanwhile, all that's been done in the aftermath of the colossal failure of leadership to prevent the holes from being formed, we have ..... what, exactly? We have fewer rights. We have still unsecured borders. We have still uninspected cargoes. We have still uninspected sea containers. But We the People are subjected to body searches to board airplanes while the failed leadership hope that sham somehow makes us *feel* more safe.

And we have endless, pointless, meaningless wars.

As we go through this two week-or-so season of remembrance, let us not lose sight of the fact that all of this, and the ills in the aftermath, was the result of massive, colossal, unprecedented failure of LEADERSHIP.

Yes, I lay blame for all of the ills of those two events we recall in this Season to Remember at the feet of our government's leadership. The leaders themselves, who failed us, and the congressional enablers who endorsed their every misstep.

In this season to remember, I shall do just that. I shall remember.

Forever ..... I shall remember.

1. Great post!
No one with a soul will ever forget. As I just said in another thread... I am LITERALLY a different Democrat than I was the day before Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans. It was an event that changed me to the core, and I will never be the same again.
