Peter King just outed this whole thing on Hardball just now!!!!!!!!
Paraphrased "This thing has been known about for a few weeks now. It wasn't until today that they decided to act on it."

He went further to say that these event benefit Lieberman!!!!!

1. the lamont vs lieberman race
is not that global of an issue. He is analyzing what he thinks will benefit a particular candidate. Its been said before that this plot was known for a few weeks, but if you are thinking conspiracy it would have benefitted lieberman more if this had happened before the primary, not after.

4. Would it?
They have organized their talking points around this event. This is Mehlman yesterday;

http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/...5/-1/BUSINESS07

<<<<"America faces a critical question," Mehlman said in his prepared text. "Will we elect leaders who recognize we're at war and want to use every tool to win it, or politicians who would surrender important tools we need to win?"

If Democrats win control of Congress, Mehlman claimed that their leaders will stop the National Security Agency from eavesdropping on foreign terrorists and pursue impeachment of President Bush.>>>>

They decide today to go after these guys? Also to raise the alert level over a "foiled plot"?

Blair knows that if guys like Lamont get into congress, Bush is screwed. If Bush is screwed, so goes Blair also. Peter King just admitted that they've known about this for a while!!!!

9. I commend you for your efforts
but you are just reaching. Bush is no more screwed with lamont in congress than with lieberman... hes one vote, not 100. Blair has already said that he isnt going to be around very long. We should be less focused on bush now and more focused on fielding a good candidate for 2008 and finding out who the republicans will field. Everyone with a brain, two eyes and at least on ear know how horrible of a leader bush is but they are getting tired of hearing it. I know I am. Democrats need to be less concerned with pissing bush off and more concerned with the issues.

27. Please define conspiracy?
I'm not saying this is going on behind closed doors. It's happening right in front of your face. Chertoff today stated that the people they caught were'nt planning on attacking today. Peter King stated they have known about this for months.

Why the delay?

Doesn't Blair have a stake in the elections here? What if more guys like Lamont get into office?

This move today was timed. They havent raised the alert level since the last election. Tom Ridge admitted most of the alerts in 04 were ridiculous.

28. You just defined it pretty well yourself
Im sure you know more about defending a country and apprehending suspects/raiding a terrorist cell than the british. So i guess ill just stick to your analysis, and the people who do this for a living, or the guy who had infiltrated their cell, they dont know what the hell they are talking about.

29. I dont think you know what you are talking about
Kinda strange how Tom Ridge was vocal about the ridiculous alerts issued during the last election.

Meanwhile the Republicans are stepping all over themselves as to what was about to happen. They even admitted the attacks weren't plan for taoday, just a "dry run".

I'm certain next you'll tell me it's wise to allow known terror cells to stew for a couple of months.

to allow for the collection of more evidence, and to find out who their financers are. Often times law enforcement sit on the "little fish" to get to the big ones

36. They already knew that a few weeks ago
This plot wasn't supposed to be executed yesterday.

These guys are going to be sitting in jail cells for a long time. Long enough before anything substantial comes out. When the time that occurs most will have forgotten about it.

Want evidence of peoples short memories? Look at how many have forgotten about the fact that the administration played games with the system for electoral success in 04. Tom Ridge, Bush's pwn appointee has already admitted that much.

22. Oh yes he is
That adds another outspoken anti war Dem to the list with Kucinich, Boxer and Conyers. Amongst a few others.

Lieberman is a CATO Inst Democrat. Otherise known as the DLC; The Republican funded wing of the Democratic party. This is not only a huge shit taken in connecticut, it's a huge shot heard around the world. The international press was following this primary.

They are scared the Democrats are playing a little Russian Roulette overthrowing and replacing their candidates. I doubt many fellow democrats are going to call Bush out for this tactic or take Lieberman to task for using Rove talking points.

It's a very big deal!!!!

Shocking!!

Hmm...think maybe that's his only motive? Especially since it wasn't the American govt that announced it or arrested anyone. Now the British government is helping Lieberman too? Nah.

They were already calling the race for him back then. I believe that Joe's going Independent and this breaking news is part of a plan to keep Joe in the Senate.

Enjoy your stay.

14. Thats not my point.
My point is that lamont is not that important on a global scale. Terrorists in the UK don't really give a damn who the *possible* new Junior senator from Connecticut will be.

18. Lamont is important because he's given Dems a great boost
Correction: I huge boost. I don't really have to explain that to you, do I?

How Rove has chosen the timing of this "terrorist" plot announcement is also huge. It's something they could have saved for another month or so to reveal. Acting today is meaningful. If you don't get that, oh well.

10. And it will benefit Joe because, just as Bushco sold this country ...
...on "9-11=Saddam Hussein," they've also been selling "War on Terror=War in Iraq." And that's the false meme that needs to be exposed.

We imploded that country, thereby setting Sunni against Shia, and then we slapped a very convenient, very marketable terrorism label on the whole mess. But I remember reading that, for all the media attention we gave to the likes of Zarqawi, the actual percentage of foreign, so-called terorists among those who are fighting in Iraq is quite small.

23. WHY would this benefit Lieberman?
What's he done to stop terrorism? Sure, he stirred up a bunch of anti-US sentiment by supporting an attack on a country that had done nothing to us, but that's not nearly the same thing.

25. Follow the talking points. an example from the fishes mouth
<<<<<"We are at war with a brutal enemy," said Lieberman during a campaign stop Thursday at a Waterbury pizza joint. "How the heck can we be in a battle in which we are fighting as Democrats and Republicans against each other when these terrorists certainly don't distinguish based on party affiliation? They want to kill any and all of us."

"I'm worried that too many people, both in politics and out, don't appreciate the seriousness of the threat to American security and the evil of the enemy that faces us - more evil or as evil as Nazism and probably more dangerous that the Soviet Communists we fought during the long Cold War," Lieberman said.

"I want to make sure that I satisfy my responsibilities and use my seniority in the Senate to make the future of the families of Connecticut safer than it would otherwise be. I don't think that Ned Lamont gets that and that's a serious difference between us."

"If we just pick up like Ned Lamont wants us to do, get out by a date certain, it will be taken as a tremendous victory by the same people who wanted to blow up these planes in this plot hatched in England. It will strengthen them and they will strike again."

http://www.stamfordadvocate.com/new...ines-local-wire

The Republicans have ditched their own candidate in CT. He was polling at 9% and doesnt have a shot in hell!!!!! Mehlman won't even tell the voters to back the Republican.

24. Snowjob also let the cat out of the bag earlier today.
"Meanwhile, in today's White House press gaggle, spokesman Tony Snow was asked directly whether the Administration knew of this terrorist plot beforehand (he said yes), and whether they knew the news about it would break today -- just after they had whacked Democrats on Lamont's victory. Snow's answer raised our eyebrows. "Let me put it this way, I dont want to encourage that line of thought. I dont think it's fully accurate, but I also dont want -- I know it's frustrating, but we really dont want to get too much into who knew what, where, when."
http://msnbc.msn.com/id/14028806

Of course they knew. They planned the whole f'ing thing.

33. That was my thought.
Rove wanted Lamont to win so that Lieberman would split the party by running as an Indy.

The White House was informed of this plot this weekend or earlier. I thought I heard on two different shows today that the White House told Downing Street about the "increased level of chatter" they were getting which seems to have pushed UK to foil the plot today.
I think Scotland Yard or the M 1 5 or whoever raided the "terrists" had planned to do it earlier in the week. Everyone knows how this White House leaks security info. You can't tell them anything this important too far in advance.

This may have been all UK's problem, but Bushco did influence the timing.

Whenever there is a terra alert, the flock closes in around Bushco. I believe that if this raid had happened on Monday, since we were thinking that Lieberman was allied with the White House, it may have given him the "scared vote" advantage.
