Cynthia McKinney - my two cents
Edited on Thu Aug-10-06 08:03 AM by LynneSin
I know there was some corruption in the voting system in Georgia so I'm clearly not discounting this. However, I'm starting to think it's time for Ms. McKinney to go. Her antics have been a tad bit bizarre of lately and now the accusations of anti-sementics accusations aren't settling to well with me.

I'm starting to think that Ms. McKinney is baggage and perhaps it's time to move on with a new candidate. Now I'm not sure what to think of this other guy who won, if he's some stoodge for the repuke party to oust McKinney in the primaries (since the district is normally safe "D"). But if in 2 years this guy turns out to be a hack then hopefully we can find a new candidate to run in 2008. But having an erratic behaving McKinney is not going to help us here in Georgia.

Now saying all of that, I still hope that someone checks into the voter fraud. Let's face it - Georgia is almost as bad as Ohio & Florida, perhaps even worse!

1. She has cried wolf too many times with some of her..
wild accusations. However, I do admire her courage for what she had to say regarding 9/11, I'm sure the neocons were out to get her so not everything she says is paranoia.

5. I have all the respect in the world for what she has done
But something is tripping her. Perhaps she can take a break and come back in a few years for that position or perhaps something in the state of Georgia.

2. she is major baggage

did you catch the anti-semitic remarks made by her retinue on election
night? reprehensible.

I was shocked.

at some point or other, the message is stained by the messenger. cynthia
was past that point.

I predict that one year into his term, you won't be able to tell the difference
between Hank's voting record and what hers would have been, and has been. and
he will be a more effective messenger since he doesn't have all that baggage.

7. Those words seem pretty harsh.....
the way some things are being interpreted these days, those words could be called racist. It works both ways.

8. No what's harsh
is the racist spew which keeps coming out of McKinney's entourage. There is actual video of this, which I've seen and heard with my own eyes and ears.

McKinney is pure slime.

10. So you think Bush is stable, he's the one at the top...
and he is about as unstable as they come. I stand by what I say when I think some are being too harsh on McKinney.

something to do with this....

McKinney opponent rakes in pro-Israel cash
By Jonathan Allen
Georgia Rep. Cynthia McKinney’s primary run-off opponent has tapped into the pro-Israel fundraising network that helped her virtually unknown challenger Denise Majette topple McKinney and Artur Davis beat then-Rep. Earl Hilliard (D-Ala.) in a pair of hotly contested 2002 primaries in black-majority districts.

Hank Johnson collected at least $34,100 on Tuesday from individuals and political action committees (PACs) that supported Majette, Davis or both, including several pro-Israel PACs. Overall, Johnson reported receiving $63,100 on Tuesday.

The contributions were recorded in a filing with the Federal Election Commission that requires only donors of $1,000 or more to be identified, meaning Johnson’s haul could have been larger.

Seven pro-Israel PACs gave to Johnson on Tuesday: MOPAC in Michigan, Washington PAC in D.C., SUNPAC and National Action Committee PAC in Florida, CITYPAC in Chicago, Mid-Manhattan PAC in New York and Louisiana for American Security PAC. Five of the seven contributed to both Majette and Davis four years ago, according to FEC records. SUNPAC gave to Majette in 2002 and to Davis in 2004, while Mid-Manhattan PAC gave only to Davis in 2002.

13. Or maybe the contributions to her opponent had something to do with
Cynthia's anti-Semitism.

12. The Democratic Party will be better off without her...
Just my opinion, but the controversy she stirs up does the party more harm than good.
