I Might Have Snoozed And Didn't Catch - But Mexico - Who Won?.....
I know that the election was close and that there were allegations of stealing the election and that there were even demonstrations - but I don't think I ever heard the outcome. Is it still being contested? Is it over? Who won?

1. Lopez Obrador's supporters are blocking the streets of Mexico City...
...in protest and are demanding a full recount. Unfortunately, the court that decides whether or not there will be a recount is not expected to issue its ruling until the end of August.

We Americans should have been as gutsy as the Mexicans back in 2000!

2. I'll second that! There's a thread titles "the shame of not being Mexican"
or something close to that, it quite eloquently makes a similar point. Not to take anything away from your post.

I believe our biggest problem is that too many of us are far too comfortable and don't value what we have.

3. Why are right-wingers so opposed to full recounts?
Good golly, I do wonder why.

4. Actually, I think the date is September 4th, 2006...
...when we'll all know what the ruling is.
