1. On Franken?
Has Al weighed in on the Lamont-Lieberman race, one way or the other? Usually he's fairly pro-establishment when it comes to the Dems.

3. He said he spoke to Lieberman privately and asked him to be on the
program, but when he asked Joementum some pretty tough questions, Lieberman bailed.

4. Yes.
Al said he's invited Lieberman to be on the show and they never get back to him about it. He's not being kissy-face with Lamont but is being respectful and asking some interesting, detailed questions. Ned sounds like he's been learning his foreign policy lessons fast.

5. Fill us in if you can!
Our AAR took away Al's spot and inserted a local progressive show (which is awesome).. but it's a bummer that we get a re-run of Al in the evenings now..

10. Talking about his message beyond Iraq...
and being on the Colbert Report tonight. Sorry I'm listening with half an ear but Lamont sounded confident and well informed and thoughtful.
The "Fiasco" author is next.

8. some Lamont positions discussed with Franken
i don't support an "over the horizon" force because i don't intend to go back into Iraq to intervene in a civil war ...

Lieberman voted for the bush-cheney energy bill that did nothing on conservation and included corporate subsidies for Big Oil

Lieberman voted against a measure that would not have allowed accounting firms to do audits and also provide consulting to the same client ... it's a conflict of interests and was one of the problems that led to the Enron debacle ...

now they stopped talking issues and are talking about Lamont's fundraising status ...

Lamont said Lieberman "might" run as an independent if Lamont wins the primary ...

11. And Al invited him back to "really" be on the show!
Also gave him some pointers about appearing on Colbert tonight. Al seems to be warming up to Lamont. At least Lamont answers Al's questions.
