Evangelical pastor Gregory Boyd heard what Christ said
Edited on Sun Jul-30-06 02:12 PM by Stargazer99
Not the rest of the so-called Christians. Rev Boyd puts it quite well. The name of his book is "Thy Kingdom Come: How the Religious Right Distorts the Faith and Threatens America-an Evangelical's Lament. This man lost 20% of his congregation because he stood by his beliefs and wasn't bullied by the extreme right...that takes courage because of this administration and its Bushbots. In one of his sermons he tells Christians should not seek power over others by controlling governments, passing legislation and fighting wars. AMEN! and AMEN! This man is following Christ. As one remembers Christ NEVER forced anyone to his beliefs, so what makes the Fundies think they have a right to force others to their personal religious beliefs? Man strives to have power over others....and we've seen the mess that has created around the world. Evangelicals were told to leave unto Ceasar what was Ceasar's but now being power mad they are not following instruction from their Master. If you are a fundamentalist, I call you out, you have no Divine authority to covet another's soul...back off...it is no wonder you are being "perscuted" you initated it. Personally, I've had more than I want of you so-called "moral examples".

3. There are a lot of "Christians" who are blasphemers.
They know the mind of "God" so perfectly that they can say what should happen to others, who is worthy, who is expendable "for the greater good", who is guilty, who innocent. They know everything, because they are "saved".

The nuns used to tell us blasphemy is the most dangerous sin.
