DUer Alarcojon to receive bone-marrow transplant tomorrow (Wed)

Many of you know that our friend and loyal DUer Alarcojon has been battling a particularly nasty form of adult-onset leukemia this summer. He's finally going in for a bone-marrow transplant tomorrow, Wednesday the 26th, after enduring weeks of chemo and radiation therapy, and their attendant hardships. If you have a moment during the day, please beam Alarcojon your best wishes, prayers and/or positive energy. He's in no shape to read DU at the moment, obviously, but I'm told that his lovely wife will gladly pass your sentiments along. Hang tough, Alarcojon! Peace and strength to you.

I've been on the Bone Marrow registry for years and years, and I really hope that I get a call about it someday. I'm also a blood donor. I'm up to 6 gallons lifetime.

I encourage all of you to look into getting on the Bone Marrow registry. They just draw a little bit of your blood to do it. That's all. You might just save someone someday like our DU amigo.

If you're braver, you might look into donating a pint of blood. You'll literally be a lifesaver in your community.
