New England Bizarro World Politics
It seems the Repubs have their own version of the Lamont-Lieberman dust-up ... but in Rhode Island rather than Connecticut.

True to form, however, the RSCC is filing complaints and gaming the system. Lockstep matters over there. In my view, if they keep this crap up, we can look for a nice pickup in Rhode Island.

1. I could sure live with a Dem pick-up in that RI Senate race. You bet.
Bring it on.

2. I hope no progressives support Chafee in the primary, that would be dumb
We want LAFFEY to win the Repub primary. That would mean a guaranteed Whitehouse (D) win in the general election.

Chafee will be harder for Whitehouse to beat.

4. "Lockstep matters"?
Chafee votes with the Democrats as often as he votes with the Republicans. The NRSC is aggresively helping Chafee out because they know Laffey stands no chance in a general election.

5. And therein lies the 'lockstep'
They want to prevent the citizens of Rhode Island from having the ability to choose between two Republicans.

Chafee's voting record isn't the issue. Keeping the seat 'R' is the issue.

6. That's right h2s
Rove understands that having a maverick R in the seat is infinitely better than any D. I wish some of our people could get that to sink in.
