Today's editorial expresses disgust with the agenda of the
Republican leadership without attributing that agenda to Republicans.
"...
The House gets to work at what it does best -- scoring political points....
the House is managing to make the other body look like a model of industrious, responsible legislating.....
the House then turned its attention to the Pledge of Allegiance....
The House has more to come on its "American Values Agenda."
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/07/22/AR2006072200678.htmlOnly one quote is used and the speaker has an "R" behind his name. -That's the only use of party identification in the entire article. One time "the leadership" is mentioned, but it's not identified by party.
Obviously we know these aren't Democratic issues, but readers shouldn't be required to guess which party is pushing a flag burning amendment, the marriage amendment, and the "Public Expression of Religion Act".
If the Republican agenda infuriates the Post, then that is what they should say.
