Please vote for Jim Webb (VA Senate seat) now !
You can help Virginians get rid of Sen. George Felix Allen and his "smirk" by voting for Jim Webb in Barbara Boxer's online contest to choose a Senate candidate for her PAC to support. Thanks so much DUers :patriot:

Claire McCaskill (MO) 15%

In May, PAC for a Change community members voted for the Democratic House member and promising House challenger they wanted to support next. Based on your choices, we raised nearly $30,000 dollars for Rep. Leonard Boswell in Iowa and Francine Busby in California.

Now it’s time for the next step. I want to invite you to choose which promising Democratic challenger for the Senate that we’re going to support next. Like before, the winner of our online vote will be featured in a fundraising email to our PAC for Change community. So your vote, and the votes of your friends and family, are critically important.

-- our online polls close at 11:59pm PDT on July 21st!

1. Can you really go wrong on this list?
Honestly, I can't say that one is more important to get rid of than another here. Santorum, Tester, DeWine, Allen... we need to get rid of all of them. I cast my vote for Sherrod Brown - that's going to be a tough race in Ohio and one that is very winnable. Casey looks like he'll be fine one way or another, and it's really a toss-up for me between McCaskill and Brown. Webb looks like he's going to have a real uphill battle, so I'd rather see the funds go to securing a state we can actually win in a Presidential election, which would exclude Virginia. Besides, I'm somewhat local there and can help out Webb in other ways.

2. I'm not sure Webb will have an uphill battle. Even without name
recognition, Webb is only behind by 5%. Once his campaign starts (they are on vacation) he should close the gap quickly.

1. He'll have Wes Clark and Mark Warner campaigning for him while George Felix will have * on his side.
2. America and Virginia are tired of dumb, fake cowboys. Allen will be voted off the island, err - Commonwealth.

3. It's still Virginia and Allen is rather popular
He's still at 52%. http://www.surveyusa.com/client/PollReport.aspx?g=17c1d30b-dc4c-4b15-b7c2-44af2384c386

That's reason enough to see it as uphill.

4. Four polls have been done on the race since the primary.
Zogby: Allen 49, Webb 44
Rasmussen: Allen 51, Webb 41
SurveyUSA: Allen 54, Webb 37
Private polling agency for Webb: Allen 46, Webb 39

Averaging those out, Webb is about 10 points behind.

6. It's only July :)
I think this is doable for Webb....he was behind 20% before the primary, and jumped 10% right after he won! And another 5 percent within a month per Zogby.

I have a good feeling Virginians are getting tired of Allen....and we have 3 fighting months left :D

7. I agree and I like Ford too.....
Just trying to help Jim fill his war chest, Allen's so far ahead it's sad he'll be able to buy his seat back, so he can start running for President. :banghead:

5. Done, gladly.
Webb doesn't have nearly the campaign chest Allen has. Anything to help him out.

Virginians who support Allen ought to send a $1.98 rubber stamp to Washington. Would be much more cost effective and have the same result.

9. I think Webb should be a top priority for us...
Brown and McCaskill, too (along with Whitehouse.) There's no reason for all that support for Casey, because he will win anyway. I'm sure the Democratic candidates in the deep red states (TX,UT,MS) are all great people, but why put so much support on campaigns we are not likely to win? We need to stay focused on the most competitive races.

10. I wish we'd have more discussions like this
on DU. All I see are Lieberman and 2008 threads, and I would much rather spend time defeating Republicans this fall. :hi:

11. A-friggin-men to that.
I scream (privately and on DU) at every 2008 poll I see. And we'd much rather have one of these:

...than actually do something to hammer our real enemies.

12. I love your "squad".....
Which is going to happen to me when the Webb Campaign finds out Webb's dropped a per cent since I posted this "contest" on DU :banghead:
