Happy 60th Wedding Anniversary Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter!

A day early, I know!

The ultimate status symbol is a long term marriage.

The Carters were married on July seventh, 1946, in Plains. They spent the first night of their honeymoon at the Biltmore Hotel in Atlanta.

What an adorable duo. I admired them when Carter was president, I admired them even more after he was president. We don't even need to go back as far as Watergate to recall the dirty tricks that have been used to keep a good and honest man out of office. He should have had a second term, but we all know that the Reps bribed the Iranians with the promise of weapons, and later the illegal sell of these weapons to them. . Hum, does anyone even doubt the connection with the hostages taken in Iran right before the election. Remember the Iran-Contra scandal! Seems like a lot of people didn't even bother to remember the evil that was done before and during the Reagan presidency, especially when the evil b#stard died.

What a great couple, he's the first president I cast a vote for. I voted for him in college, then watched the inauguration with my roomies. When we went to Florida for spring break in 1977, I insisted we stop by Plains, GA on the way. OMG, I was showing signs then of being a political addict.
