The word 'moderate' is no longer meaningful
Since the political center of gravity is far and away to the right, I suggest abandoning the use of this word as it is quite misleading. How about the following replacements?

semi-fascists
fascist-enablers
anti-liberals

Each of these terms accurately describes the left bashing tendencies of so-called 'moderates' while acknowledging the fact that they are not at the extreme right of the political spectrum.

1. LOL!
Since the political center of gravity is far and away to the right

From YOUR lofty position on the left

I suggest abandoning the use of this word as it is quite misleading. How about the following replacements?

semi-fascists
fascist-enablers
anti-liberals

Or, how 'bout "the big meanies who won't let me have my way?"

Each of these terms accurately describes the left bashing tendencies of so-called 'moderates' while acknowledging the fact that they are not at the extreme right of the political spectrum.

Oh, the irony!

7. see, there is the irony
The OP can call moderates semi-fascists, fascist-enablers, and anti-liberals, but even a mild rebuttal becomes "attacking alot."

18. Lighten up, Francis
I was just razzin' yeah.

You mocked the poster without offering any kind of rebuttal, which is well deserving of a rebuttal in and of itself, no?

It has nothing to do with your politics. :hi:

12. Believe me, I'd be glad to be called all that (and more)
if I could have even 20 genuine leftists occupying positions of power, fighting for the rights of the working class and the poor instead of pursuing empire, profits and oil.

4. Today's bleeding heart liberal...........
is the equivalent of a 50's Eisenhower Republican. The balance has truly gone too far to the right. The Republicans are very good at scaring Americans, there always has to be a bogey-man around the corner for them to succeed.

19. Not so.
It's not just votes and elections I'm talking about, but the fact that on so many fundamental, social/economic/political/moral questions today's 'moderates' are diametrically opposed to the left.

11. there are no longer any moderates.
that is a dead political stand.

at the end of the day -- a moderate leaves in place -- supports -- the corporate branch of government.

and that's the heart of their extreme position.

17. the moderates themselves aren't so ignorant.
like much of american society there is an extraordinary portion of the population that suffers from a willful ignorance -- and then there are those moderates who are aware how things have shifted -- and and support it. and yes that is cynical and manipulative.

28. i consider folk like the clintons to be the kind of
''moderates'' who manipulate the current political and corporate landscape to their advantage and to bolster the power of certain corporate entities against that of the people.

i.e. cynical.
