4. Cost jobs?
But aren't minimum wage jobs the nasty, dull, smelly, ugly awful ones that HAVE to be done but only the desperate will do?

BTW, what is the point of a job that doesn't even pay the basic expenses of living?

Not to mention the minimum wage hike won't even be close to keeping up with the rampant inflation the government insists isn't happening...unless you happen to try and buy something.

7. And if people would stop breaking the law, there'd be no crime.
That's not a very helpful suggestion or a realistic solution, however.

13. Hardly needed any help
It's amazing the pubbies always trot out that tired old chestnut about costing jobs when every time the minimum wage has increased, so has the number of new jobs.

Small business owners scream bloody murder, then see an increase in business that far outstrips any increase in the wages they pay their staff. People at the bottom spend every dime they make, thus increasing demand for goods and services.

Fattening the rich doesn't create any jobs, unless you're counting those created overseas for labor paid in cheap currencies.

Don't expect the pubbies to PASS this 50% increase, that's why they made it so "ridiculously large." Only a few of them have realized that our wages will be the wedge issue, not enough to pass it.

They did, however, give themselves a $3,000+ pay hike again this year.
