Congress has authorized the development of a Pentagon Memorial honoring the 184 who perished in the attack on the Pentagon on Sept. 11, 2001.

Family members have established a not-for-profit corporation "Pentagon Memorial Fund, Inc." to raise the funds to build and maintain the Memorial.

... making the vision a reality.

How is it that the government can authorize virtually unlimited money for a war with no genuine purpose, but can't allocate a few measley million to honor those who died in service to the country (Pentagon employees) or those who died by an attack on our country (airplane passengers)?

Not only does the Republican government of our once great country fail at every turn to honor the troops that serve so well, both as cannon fodder and as photo-op props, but they also fail to honor the oridinary citizens in whose names we are supposedly waging this war with no genuine purpose.

My disgust for these people knows no bounds. My disgust was brought to the fore, once again, in watching Rumsfeld head the groundbreaking ceremony. My disgust was heightened even further by the presence of Wolfowitz and others who were complicit in the war with no genuine purpose.

What a meaningless gesture they do, forcing the survivors to fund their own memorial and then using the groundbreaking - paid for by ordinary people - for their own political betterment.

Mr. Rumsfeld, **I** will *never* forget.
