Specter is apparently bending on his NSA issue, including eventually offering amnesty to those involved. Letters to Cafferty coming up. This issue is infuriating me...how about you?

3. Wolfe just said that he just had a call from Specter

stating that he wanted a correction from the paper reporting the story. Hmmmm? The saga continues.

Jack Has been rough on Arlen for a while now, well deserved I might add, and I guess Arlen is getting a little freaked!

Did you also hear Wolff say Arlen was going to be on his Sunday Show "Late Edition"? Wonder if Wolff will ask him about this NSA flip-flop?

6. Yes, I saw that. Wolff seems to be turning a corner...

..not consistently, but I see Cafferty having an effect on him...most often in the personal exchanges they have at the end of a report.

The thing that keeps haunting me is that all this squirming out of these situations with the insistence that their shenanigans are permitted for this president, seem to be more prevalent since Gonzo moved into the AG position. Is it my imagination, or are these instances more and more the norm? They are getting good at putting the screws to anyone raising a flag.

7. Hard to believe there's someone worse than Ashcroft

8. Yes it is! I thought I detested Ashcroft, but as I think back, it was

all because of him forcing the really stupid things, like draping the statues. With Gonzo, I don't see that religious extremism, but he's a very devious lawyer. It looks to me like he's deliberately telling this admin. to go over the edge and test the waters because nobody is going to get them anyway!

Remember, even Ashcroft turned them down on the spying program, and he was in the ICU at the time!!!!

2. Cafferty was excellent last night. He pointed out that all Spector had

done in 4 years of WH coveting more power & secrecy.. was write one letter. Cafferty pointed out that Spector has had the power of oversight as the head of the committe and the power to compel witnesses to tell the truth and so far he has done dick. When he has had the power all along.
