It suddenly dawned on Cheney
How much he just stepped on his pee-pee right in front of the public for all to see. It is against the law to interfere in any manor with a congressional investigation such as the interference with the Judiciary Committee trying to get to the bottom of NSA data base collection activities, causing yesterdays terse letter from Sen. Spector to Cheney.

Mere interference let alone direct contact with witnesses such as contacting AT&T officials and other telco officials and convincing them not to testify certainly crosses the line. Not only is this illegal for Cheney himself but these CEO's and others have violated the law in even entertaining the conversations.

USC TITLE 18 Contempt of Congress

Another in a long line of impeachable offenses has occurred right in front of everybody. The evidence, 'did you contact these witnesses'? in itself is "no more questions" I rest my case material. It's a prema facia case of interference, not "normal governance".

This must be why Cheney has actually answered Spectors letter in an alleged attempt to work it out. Cheney has previously demonstrated the propensity to just ignore Spector. Cheney is spinning it to Spector as normal governance. Wrong. Google - Contempt of Congress - to see how it has applied in the past to legal players.

No doubt Cheney is hoping Spector or any dems don't call for a special counsel to be appointed. It would be pretty hard for that call to fail if it was formally made as that officer that refused to appoint, (Gonzo) could himself be thrown on the pile as a co-conspirator to obstruct a Congressional investigation.

3. And he will be prosecuted for this by whom?
Please.

There are ways to push this but... they chiefly require Spector having balls.

10. I did quite a bit of research
on the appointment of special prosecutor in the last couple weeks and posted it at DU. Unfortunately I'd don't have search capabilities as I can't yet donate. That would show the procedure and explain who could call for it and the AG regulations governing that appointment.

The procedure REQUIRES such appointment whether he likes it or not if three criterion are met, the first being probable cause that the USC has been violated. The other two are demonstrating the AG as part of the Admin a special council is required. It's too bad I lost it as it would be fitting here and I don't have the couple hours available right now to repeat it. I had done it around the election fraud issues.

11. Arlen Specter is the one who raised the issue yesterday
He was very po'd.

If he's po'd enough to do something about it, then Cheney could have a problem. But since it's Arlen Specter, I wouldn't get my hopes up.

17. Spector
Ha! The only reason Spector has been there this whole time was his complacency in the JFK assassination... I don't see any hope there.

8. Rove and Cheney did it with Roberts during the Intel inquiry and even got
Sen Roberts to add anti-Wilson talking points into the report so they could be disseminated all over the media to paint Wilson as a liar.

I wonder when Fitzgerald will ever call Pat Roberts to testify about this under oath?

9. Well, I'm sure George will fire him now. I mean, he once said:
"If someone committed a crime, they will no longer work in my administration."

This was quoted in The New York Times.

I'm sure he hasn't flip-flopped on that law-and-order stance. :sarcasm:

21. Pee-pee
Well, if Cheney has one, he must've got the tweezers out to find it. I didn't think walking turds were designed to have a penis. Maybe he stepped on his own shit bag. He must have one to carry all his "shit" around in. In the immortal words of traitor Cheney himself..."go fuck yourself"!
Dick Cheney...before he dicks you!!!
