"Daily Show" needs attitude adjustment
Ok, Jon Stewart announced on tonight's show (Tues) that he's having a guest tomorrow night (Weds) to discuss the Democratic Primaries from tonight.

His guest will be BobDole.

I haven't found a way to email them, yet, and Comedy Central's message boards are down, at the moment, but I think we need to email 'The Daily Show' to let them know we're tired of Republican spinmeisters slanting coverage of the Democratic Primaries.

Also, for Clark supporters, you may also want to express your displeasure at his comments that Clark is "creepy." We've got enough to fight against with this media blackout without yet another right-wing spin machine sprouting up. No need to totally go off on him; just call him a wanker.

2. But....

He tries to be fair to everyone, and he slams Bush rightly when he screws up.

I think just slamming everyone when they deserve it is good enough because the truth wins out.

4. Agreed
And they slammed Bush HARD tonight.

Not one Democratic nominee has escaped their wrath. Clark has actually gotten off much easier than others.

The Daily Show is FINE. Best show on television.

(I'm actually looking forward to the Bob Dole interview - Stewart will make it fun and manage to joke through any spin)

Joe

3. It's not a real news show!
...even though John Edwards announced his candidacy there...

It's supposed to be comedy! Comedy!

5. Don't worry about Republican Bob Dole talking about candidates...
..worry about Republicans Al From and Terry McAulliffe choosing them for you.

6. Ha! Now *that's* funny
p.s. Let it ride, kiddies, like always.... and yet another media outlet will tilt rightwards. (You think the right isn't constantly emailing them?)

Guests on the most recent 9 shows...
John McCain
Christine Whitman
Richard Perle
Bob Dole

7. actually...
the voters are choosing our candidates right now. Sorry they don't agree with you, but it's not Al From's fault, it's not McAuliffe's fault, it's not the media's fault, it's not the DLC's fault....

13. What Is The Point, Mr. Coup?
Are you honestly of the belief that the head of the Democratic Party is a Republican? Do you really expect anyone to take such comments seriously?

"LET'S GO GET THOSE BUSH BASTARDS!"

8. I think Stewart is for Clark
He certainly doesn't show it daily, but when he had Clark on, he was very kind to him. Stewart has to be fair.

11. I Love Stewart and 'The Daily Show'...
Hey, I *love* Stewart and 'The Daily Show', and he's a most genial host to *all* his guests. And 'The Daily Show' is about the most balanced "news" source out there; I'd just like to keep it that way.

All I was saying is that we write them to keep them in check. You can be certain that right-wing types rail on them regularly -- which I'm not recommending anyone do. Sane, short emails/posts asking for unbiased Democratic pundits to comment on the Democratic primaries isn't too much to ask -- especially considering the disadvantage that we face in the "real" news world.

9. Am I the only one that
kinda has a soft spot for Dole? I don't know what it is, but I think he is really funny, and not even really evil.

10. not at all...
I think he's very funny, and he's NOT that far right, believe it or not. He's an old-school republican - there used to be a lot of them, but they're mostly gone now.

12. Dole can be funny....
... so long as you're not talking politics. Near any political subject, he seems to shift to the party line. (Very lock-steppy since Florida 2000.)

15. No
You're not the only one. I respect Dole as a smart man and a war hero. I know that like McCain and Jeffords he'd get blacklisted by the current Republicans. And yes, he's funny. Who can forget when he was looking at Carter, Ford and Nixon and said "There they are, see no evil, hear no evil, and evil."

14. Daily Show is spot on
Nobody does it better than John Stewart. He attacks everybody fairly, and is less biased than anybody out there (except maybe CSPAN).
