College Republicans Stage Events to Mock Global Warming
*Not to be confused with earlier events that mocked dignity, sobriety and the human form.

From the College Republicans-

Snow Cone Stands & Global Warming Beach Parties

Run a “Global Cooling” Snow Cone Stand

Freeze out environmentalist scare tactics with a little humor. The Oklahoma University College Republicans gave out free snow cones to students for an event they called "Global Cooling Day."

Stage an event like this one to grab the attention of your campus and raise awareness on the falsities of the global warming phenomenon. Engage with students and debunk some of the myths and cool the hyperbole surrounding the issue.
...
Prior to your "Global Cooling Day" event, arm your College Republican chapter with solid talking points on the issue, and then kick-back and enjoy the sun. The facts are on your side.

Consider staging a similar event on your campus--but make it a beach party instead. Kiddie pools, sand, bikinis--you get the idea.

1. They really look stupid
as people find out the ice caps are melting, whole species are near extinction, and the desertification of the planet is starting. Don't these idiots realize that SCIENTIFIC FACT isn't a political opinion?

20. Some one should tell that poor boy on the left that red wine has
Edited on Fri May-26-06 02:43 PM by izzybeans
tanins and tanins make your jowels swell. And when you drink barrels of red wine at a time, well..."Violet your turning violet, violet."

on edit: Freud wanted me to pass along this helpful hint to the sexually repressed man on the right. Sucking on the real thing won't make you less human. It might even bring you and jowel boy closer together. But you may need some lengthy free-association time and hypnosis in order to get over whatever it is that keeps you bottle up like that. So give Freud a call. Your unconscious will never have to pretend again.

3. Looks like a great place to recruit foot soldiers for Kabul
Afghanistan is slipping away - these gutless turds should be happy to fly over and fight SMirk's war.

4. This is the same as mocking Mathematics or Geography
They are worthless young punks, abramoff, norquist, reeds in training for nothing but bad things for our country. Why are they even in college with no desire to learn? Could it be a safe haven and easy excuse for not taking up arms for a war they support? They are a classic and real reflection of today's "conservative" movement in America - pure ignorance.

10. In case you haven't noticed, BOSS, stupid is now "in"
as our current WH resident so painfully exhibits. Who'd have thought that anti-intellectualism would be the catalyst for the end of America?

15. Is there anything worse than College Republicans?
As a college student, I say "no."

They are the most hate-filled, immature, un-serious, hypocritical assholes I know.

16. Things have not changed much on Campus I see
true story....

Poli Sci 101, we had to read the Manifesto. Puke, dressed in coat and tie, starts ranting and raving at the prof because he was a commie suporter. Finally prof stands over kid, with that kidn of presence you see with military vets... and tells teh kid, "When you have done half of what I have done to defend this country we can talk." He walked away.

The prof was truly to the right of Attila the Hun, but to his credit he was an AF vet and CIA vet... not to mention diplomatic corp. You could see the fear in the kid's eyes, for he was confronted for his bullshit.

Oh this was over 20 years ago...

18. True story...
In my Sociology class there is this fancy little conservative guy, who is a Finance major, who comes to class in a suit and tie.

We were talking about the reasons blacks and other minorities are disproportionately poor, and he was totally unwilling to accept that there are external factors which limit their ability to climb up the socio-economic ladder, and his explanation was, "They just need to work harder."

He went into some sort of tangent once, when we were talking about women and gender inequality, explaining to us simpletons about how Goldman Sachs pays their employees the highest salaries in the world, but they also have to work "120 hours a week" and the reason women aren't equally represented at a firm like Sachs is because "women just can't work that long, they just can't take it."

We were talking about outsourcing and he raised his hand to give the 'ol, "This is a global economy! People just have to adapt" speech and ended by saying "Listen, I'm not saying it will be easy, it might take a while, but maybe in 200 years things will improve."

I kid you not. He said "200 years." Does he even know how old America is? Pssh, 200 years.

And who is this kid, who obviously never had to work for his wealth, to tell anyone they need to "work harder"?
