Ras: Ohio Senate-Brown by 3%

Ohio Congressman Sherrod Brown (D) holds a three-point lead over incumbent Senator Mike DeWine (R).

Brown is up 44% to 41% and that's the first time he's been ahead in any of the six Ohio polls Rasmussen Reports has conducted for Election 2006 (see crosstabs).

The 44% level of support for Brown is his highest of the season. DeWine has lost ground in four straight polls since peaking at 46% in mid-February.

A month ago, DeWine had a slight edge in this race, 43% to 41%. It remains to be seen whether Brown's lead reflects a change in the dynamic of the race or is merely statistical noise.

3. Brown's been ahead
since early in the year, if you include the Zogby polls. Rasmussen polls conservative, so the lead is probably 6 or 7 points. Brown also won his primary with a larger percentage and number of votes than DeWine.

Brown Could Defeat DeWine in Ohio

4. Wasn't Brown ahead by eight in the last zogby? n/t
It's a good sign he's finally ahead in Rasmussen -which generally polls more conservatively.
