Grand jury indicts Kentucky Gov. Ernie Fletcher
Edited on Thu May-11-06 06:04 PM by Bruden
Kentucky Gov. Ernie Fletcher was indicted Thursday on misdemeanor charges alleging that his administration hired and fired state workers on the basis of politics, not qualifications.

The first Republican governor since 1967, Fletcher is the first Kentucky governor to be indicted. He entered office on a pledge to cut “waste, fraud and abuse” in state government.

The charges: Criminal conspiracy, official misconduct in the first degree and violating the prohibition against political discrimination.

A second indictment was returned for perjury against former state highway engineer Sam Beverage, a class D felony.

2. Ah, the party of values...
Listen, anybody who walks around telling you "I'm so moral, I'm so honest and decent and apple-pie good"...

Well, watch your back. :scared:

And your wallet. :grr:
