My newly-sworn-in hubby just got a RENEWAL notice from the RNC.
I find it kind of suspicious--how did they get his name?

He knows Sappho will stop at this house if he were to register Republican--he wouldn't dream of it anyway (can't guarantee Democrat either, but he has registered).

Seriously--is it legal for INS to offer his name to the RNC?

There are no indications this came from a mailing list (I can usually tell by how they spell Mr. BAL's very unusual name(.

5. Ah. sorry.
:D

That is odd. I would follow up on it. He should rack his brain about where he's put his name out there.

6. I've heard of this happening
" After living 15 years in the United States, Alton Villamueva was sworn in last week as an American citizen. At the swearing in, the Filipino-American filled out a card and registered to vote. But he says when he got his application, the box to choose a party affiliation had already been marked "Republican". "My impression is that it was a Republican activity urging new Americans to register and vote Republican. Personally, I was hoping it would have been a bi-partisan activity. I was actually surprised to see only Republicans running the registration process.""
