Tweety Just Said CIA Needs to Warn Us BEFORE An Attack This Time
I think my head just exploded. Even the impotent 9/11 Commission reported over 500 warnings the summer before 9/11.

Tweety is an epic douchebag.

2. He meant flight numbers and seating assignments, silly.
Mr. President can't issue a warning until he has those things--Condi says so so it must be true!

If DU didn't exist, reality would not either.

God help us all.

3. You said it. We had plenty of warnings, we just had an illegitimate
administration just LOOKING for an excuse to enact the neocon agenda.
Not to mention whores like Tweety ignoring/ridiculing/marginalizing each and every one of the voices of reason in the run-up to the war.
Tweety was a salesman in this effort; all you need do is look back at his salivating over the Imbecile in the weeks and months prior to the invasion and occupation.

4. Tweety obviously never READ The 9-11 Commission Report and if he did he's
forgotten how devastating it was for BushInc, and even with all that was left out of the report to protect him as much as they could.

5. No, Tweety, your beloved Mission Accomplished Commander in Chief
needs to DO SOMETHING the next time the CIA tries to warn him about something.

6. NWS should have predicted Katrina, too. And the Mil shoudl have
suggested they needed more troops to button down Iraq. And the Developing world should give Oil co's of they're going to use more & more oil. And Mother friggin Nature should send us a sign we're screwing her up. I'm going to throw up now.

7. I remember an AP story in early summer 2001 that startled me...it must
have been around the time when, as I think Richard Clarke said, the intel folks were going around with their "hair on fire" worried about "chatter" and warning about a possible upcoming attack on not just US interests abroad but perhaps in the US itself. (And this was before Bushco used the "terra, terra, terra" ploy to his own ends after Sept 11.) The article I read as I recall had a sense of extreme concern intel folks had about the "chatter" and the possibility US itself may be a direct target of an attack. I don't recall seeing any previous alert/article that was as disturbing to me as that one. And there'd been occasions reported before when embassies and US interests abroad were put on alert, etc. This was different to me. Seemed to me that they were really concerned about the possibility of an attack here, not just abroad. Although I think I recall the article concluded that an attack abroad was more likely, I got the sense the people they were talking to were seriously worried. Or maybe it was just me and I picked up on the cosmic vibrations. ;) But it definitely caught my attention unlike previous reports of "chatter" where warnings went out to US assets abroad.

The rest of that summer I scanned the wire services to see if there were any more follow ups but didn't see anything. I think it was in late August or early Sept that I finally saw a small article saying that the chatter had died down.

Yet the Pres, Condi and the gang got reports and other info along the lines of the August 6 PDB for months and the "storyline" is there was no warning?

Just like the "storyline" is the CIA got the existence of Iraq's WMD's all wrong?

Just like "no one could have imagined" that a major hurricane hitting NOLA could result in a catastrophic flooding of the city? Although it had been predicted as a distinct possibility and concern for years?

Bah.
