Who's excited about tonight!!!
I can't wait. The 3 week of primaries and the news coverage is going to be HUGE.

I'm a Kerry supporter, but I'd like to see Edwards and Clark stay in it until next week. These primaries are doing a great amount of good to get people excited and to help solidify all the canidates stump speeches and debating performance.

Who else is excited?

2. Me!
But I'm excited because I think Edwards will win in SC!

I know you like Kerry but have you considered Edwards might be the most electable candidate?

Kerry's long voting record is Karl Rove's dream complete with votes to cut defense sepending and raise taxes and a statement that we spend too much on intelligence. His vote against the first Gulf War and for the second war in Iraq will be used to make him look like a politician who panders to public opinion instead of leading. His military record won't help him any more than Max Cleland's record helped him. Poeple won't want to hand over their national security to a candidate they don't like or trust.

If candidates with the most experience won in general elections Arnold Schwarzenager would not be governor of California and Al Gore would have won in a landslide. What matters is a candidate's ability to connect with people. This is why Clinton beat the first Bush and why John Edwards will beat the second Bush!

People need to keep in mind that John Kennedy was only 44 when he was elected president during the height of the cold war. Bill Clinton was only 46 and John Edwards is 50. Edwards already has more foreign policy experience than Clinton or Bush when they were elected.

I will support John Kerry with all my heart if he wins. But I really think we have a better chance with Edwards.

3. Here here!
I'm excited now...

But if Edwards loses SC, I will be depressed....

Because the Dems best chance at winning in November would have gone down the drain...

6. he's in the hunt in Oklahoma too--let's keep our hopes up!
I hope at least one candidate does well enough to keep up the competition with Kerry, because I think it's good to keep the Republicans' target vague and moving. Of course I want it to be Edwards too, but I will be quite pleased if Clark and Dean do well too.

ABB!

10. Conditionally Excited
If at the end of the day, the nomination is effectively over, except for Sharpton, Dean, and Kucinich making noise, the excitement will quickly move to disappointment. I don't think that "anointing" the front-runner this early will be good.

I'm rooting for surprises and upsets and intrigue

12. I don't think it will be over after tonight
I think at least Edwards will still be in the hunt. I'm not quite sure about Clark. Clark was going to be THE answer to a presumptive Dean nomination, touting his foreign policy and military experience against a candidate with none. When Kerry won Iowa, that rationalization kind of went away. That doesn't mean that Clark ain't a really good guy and would be fantastic in public service as a Dem., but Kerry showed up at the last minute as the anti-Dean candidate after all.

I hope Edwards does really well in SC. I would love to see a one-on-one debate between the two of them.
