Poll question: Is the LIBERAL MEDIA distracting from DeLay story w/t French Protest!
Edited on Tue Apr-04-06 02:22 PM by FrenchieCat
What the "F"?

I turned on my Teevee to hear all about Tom DeLay quitting, and what do I get instead? "Breaking News" coverage on French Protests that have been going on for two weeks now.

What I want to know is how does the "Liberal" :sarcasm: Corporate media know exactly how to report what it does all at the exact same time? How is this possible?

Is there collusion?
I believe that there is.

Our media heads must have gotten a "call" telling them what to report on as "breaking News"!

3. Maybe it's only on the network you're watching where it's "breaking"?

The other News is far and few in between!

The 24/7s set the agenda, if you didn't notice!

It was "breaking news" a few days ago, when the authorities finally broke out the water cannons as storm troopers started "breaking" heads.

7. It's all over the radio
But, what I don't understand is why the current (as in right this very minute) debate about immigration isn't at the top of the list here or in the news.

8. It's all about them "pitchers" ya see....
They don't have any good video of DeLay eating a live baby, so they have to make do with exciting French street scenes! Of course, they can "delay" the DeLay story, but it will get, like it or not, full treatment this weekend on the Talking Head Shows (it's just too RICH to ignore) and, when Hot Tub Tom steps down in June, and every time he struts into court, a la Abramoff, it will be the gift that keeps on giving....

They can "delay" the inevitable, but they can't make it go away. The stalling is an attempt to buy some time to figure out howdafuck ta spin it!!!

11. I think you read too much into it...
the newspapers tomorrow will be filled with DeLay items -- indeed, most of them already have online stories. Time Magazine already has a lengthy one, including interview.

The simple fact of the matter is, television goes with whatever makes the best image. And protests with water cannons and cops busting heads is far more compelling (in the broadcast-news sense of the word) than the DeLay story -- where's the image in the DeLay story?

Tonight it will be back to Rep. McKinney and should she be arrested....

Of course Cheney shooting someone in the face was just "child" play and "innocent". :eyes:

15. I don't think so, honestly.
Delay is part of the whole unease that is building up in the country over the policies and direction of the Rethug Party. He and his oily corruption has sunk in. I really think that. I think people took note of his resignation.
