Mass Exodus Likely At Harris Campaign: "It's just imploding."

Mass Exodus Likely At Harris Campaign

By JIM STRATTON
Orlando Sentinel

ORLANDO -- The last of U.S. Rep. Katherine Harris' key staffers appear ready to abandon her campaign for the U.S. Senate in a wave of resignations expected to start this weekend.

Sources close to the campaign said Friday that the defections would touch virtually every level of her operation.

Harris, who is running against Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson, is likely to lose her chief political strategist, her campaign manager, her spokeswoman, her director of field operations and even a traveling aide who helps hand out stickers at campaign appearances.

It is the latest and most dramatic indication so far that her campaign is on the verge of collapse.

"I've never seen staffers go like this," said David Johnson, a Republican pollster and consultant. "It's just imploding."

Calls and e-mails to the campaign were not returned Friday night, but sources said Harris met with staffers earlier in the day to tell them she would be hiring new staff to replace those who had already left.

Existing campaign workers could stay, she said, but they would have to re-commit themselves to the Senate race. She gave them until 5 p.m. Sunday to decide.

1. Noooooo
It's too early for Harris' campaign to go down the flusher. She needs to hang in there for another 3 months.

believe it or not I still think with her name recognition that she can resurrect her campaign and win.

I want her out.

4. And all that money, too
She already bought herself a seat in the US House of Representatives,
with her only qualification for the job being that she was in on the
original plot to install W in the White House. That wasn't enough for
her? What does she think this is, 2002? Some people, I swear, they are
never satisfied. She could have paid me the $10 million and I would have
gotten her to the same place her Senate campaign is now: nowhere. I would
have even given her a healthy discount for a lump sum payment...........

6. No, that was speculated previous to her announcement about the $10M
but she regrettably is still in the House. :puke:

7. So, she can switch gears, drop out of the Senate Primaries
and run for her incumbent seat at the House????

8. Probably so, but I don't think she will
I bet she will stick in the senate race even if she has to pay a brownie troop to run her campaign.

10. Although it would be nice to have the infusion of cash into the economy
The sooner people like Harris and any other republican criminal running for office is out of the race, the better.

19. I think someone should send Bill Frist, the CAT BUTCHER, a video
tape of the Harris campaign's last few meetings so he can make a long-distance assessment of its vigor and viability.

It looks to me as if Ms. Harris has tried to shoot the gap here and has gotten squeezed inbetween a convoy of GOP 18 wheelers and several local diaper trucks.

She's toast.

She is burnt toast (toast before, now burnt toast).
